The cabin was spacious and clean. It was located near the river walking distance to the trout fishing. It also had nice patios for lounging and viewing the foliage. Not too far from town and grocery stores.
It was a beautiful small town. The people were friendly.
It was a beautiful small town. The people were friendly. Great restaurants and several things to do for entertainment. We took a ride on the tygarts flyer train. We ate at McDonald’s Subway and the Steer Steakhouse. We used iPhone for directions to get to all the places we wanted to go to.

Getting across the two lanes from the hotel was difficult as there is not a stoplight. The town itself is very congested so getting through was difficult and a lot of places on the main streets were hard to find parking.

Elkins is a beautiful small town.
Elkins is a beautiful small town. Lots of restaurants that have pick up and delivery. The mountain views are similar to PA so I think it's beautiful. Walmart is close by for trips to pick up what was left at home. Great Italian food at Beanders. DQ had friendly staff and fresh food. KFC had fresh hot food and friendly staff as well. Many in town are wearing masks and there's lots of sanitizer available.

Nice typically American small town, but not much to see in the city, except few blocks around the train station.
On the other side, the city is well situated in the region; you can reach within one driving hour places like: Seneca Rocks, Seneca Caverns, Durbin Train Station, Green Bank Observatory, Snowshoe Resort, Cass Train Station, to name just few of them.
Recommend for a regular or extended weekend getaway, but not for a whole vacation.

We were only able to stay one night which afforded the opportunity to try local brewery Big Timber brewing as well as the 1863 Grill. There are other things to check out but unfortunately did not have the chance to check out.

We were there for the Polar Express train ride.
We were there for the Polar Express train ride. The train ride was fantastic. I was traveling with 3 kids so we did not go into any of the shops downtown. Overall people seemed very friendly & helpful through the town. The only negative I can offer is if you have a Verizon cell phone you will be on roaming as they have no Verizon cell towers anywhere near them.
The location is beautiful, we enjoyed driving up and down the road for dinner every night and seeing the foliage as it's turning autumn. Austin and Hannah were very prompt whenever I had an issue with the room. Which was amazing because it made us feel heard. I have a few irks in the "what i didn't like" that aren't really bad but they're for the informed traveler.
I booked a king room with walk in shower if possible.
Our room was a suite with a small kitchen, sofa, bedroom in a separate room and a wonderful walk in shower. I believe we got a free upgrade but the whole experience was outstanding. Breakfast was good and we will choose holiday inn express for our next adventure for sure.
The property was in the process of a total makeover which our hall had been done but on arrival we had our reservations on the I renovated portion and the fear the work would be disturbing yet it wasn’t . This had the first hotel room small refrigerator with a freezer that froze our freezer packs in a day.
The staff was helpful in recommending local restaurants. The breakfast was really good. I liked the variety and the eating area was comfortable. We liked that juices, coffee and tea were available all day in the breakfast area. We enjoyed the patio with its mountain views.
Breakfast was adequate, and different each day. As for the view, we had a great view of the parking lot, but the hotel did have an outdoor space that overlooked the town. We used it several times.
