We had a fantastic time with Jackie and his family staying on the Komodo Island 🤩 We would really recommend this for anyone wanting to see the island at a more leisurely pace. The room was lovely - there was a fan, a comfy bed and it was right on the water front of the village. Jackie and his wife were wonderful hosts and within the price you get 3 delicious meals a day! Jackie also organised for us to take a local boat with a local captain to see Manta Point/Pandar/pink beach - he's a local ranger so he took us around Komodo Nation Park (and even his own village) where we saw loads of Komodo dragons. We loved his stories and he spoke excellent English! It was the best experience we had in Indonesia so far ❤️ Some tips that we learnt: There is a public boat but it only leaves on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It's from the fish market on Labuan Badjo (if you go there the locals are really helpful). We paid 100k each. It leaves at 11am but we arrived at 9am - there are no seats so be ready to sit on the floor. It's a busy boat so we were squished like sardines. The boat takes around 4 hours and is loud but there was a toilet onboard. The return boat leaves on Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday back to Labuan Badjo. If this isn't something you're interested in, speak to Jackie as he'll arrange collection and drop off with you for a reasonable price (and it can work around your schedule). It's totally worth staying on the island - the views are amazing! Best sunset we've seen! You also see waaayy more dragons near the village than at the National Park (and there aren't many people) The boat Jackie organised for us was 2 million for the whole day! The captain knew exactly where to find the Manta rays and even came swimming with us. It was lovely to see the sights on our times so would highly recommend this :) we did the national park on the same day to only purchase the ticket once!

He also knows the best time to visit sight seeings so you can enjoy the view without too many tourists. Just let him know what you prefer and he'll give you good suggestions. The homestay is really cozy. Food is fresh and delicious. People are friendly. It's the best option if you'd like to experience how the local life is. All in all, you'll get a totally customized trip. Just stay with Erjun!

We are a French couple and tried this genuine experience for 3 nights on beg December 2023. We are very happy and recommend it, but we believe it must be clear what to and not to expect. We hope the details below will help other travelers. First challenge is to contact Jahiding, the lovely host who is also a komodo ranger. You will get his WhatsApp once you book the stay. Once on the Island, Jahiding will take care of you from A to Z, he stayed with us as the guide during the tours we planed with him and the captain. It's a private small boat (meaning not big) and you can choose where to go and how long you stay at each spot. We believe It was a privilege compared to other tours with dozens of people and timed visits. -Transportation The main challenge is to get to komodo Island with the "phantom" public boat that nobody knows about. It does exist and is actually located in a separate Harbour. Here is the GPS location : -8.484518,119.876788 The name is "TPI Kampung Ujung port". There is a smelly fish market to go through, not hard to miss. Price is 100k IDR if captain does not try to charge the tourist fee. You have to ask people around the boat if it is the correct one as there is no ticket to buy in advance nor any special desk. Just hope on the boat once you are sure it is the right one and pay when you arrive. The boat is mid size and around 20-30 people make the trip. It is not a ferry, it is much smaller, around 20 meters long and 4 meters wide and only one deck with shade. Transport takes 4h and is noisy (depends on the boat you have), travelers are komodo residents which are all very kind. Be prepared for basic confort, no seat no bench, just boat wood. No toilet break neither. The boat schedule as Jahiding told us is as such, and you will have to plan your stay based on this. From Labuan to Komodo Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Between 9am and 11am. From Komodo to Labuan Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday between 9am and 10am.

Angel Island Eco Resort offers a great tropical escape on a private Bidadari Island, which is located about a 30-minute boat ride from Labuan Bajo. Angel island eco resort is truly ecological. Perfect for people who are concerned about the environment but still want a relaxing vacation. Highly recommended and would book again without hesitation. Baby sharks swim straight to the shore and are the cutest!

Apesar de ser um estabelecimento mais simples, cada detalhe é bem cuidado, criando um ambiente confortável e acolhedor para os hóspedes. Os funcionários desempenharam um papel crucial em tornar minha experiência ainda mais positiva. Sua gentileza e prestatividade foram notáveis desde o check-in até o check-out. Sempre disponíveis e dispostos a ajudar, eles definitivamente elevaram o padrão de serviço da hospedagem. O café da manhã foi satisfatório, oferecendo uma variedade adequada de opções para começar o dia. Quanto à localização, embora a hospedagem não esteja situada no centro da cidade, a acessibilidade não foi um problema. Um rápido trajeto de táxi de cerca de 10 minutos me levou facilmente às principais atrações e pontos de interesse da região.

Situado em uma área privativa da praia de Pede, o Luwansa Beach Hotel dispõe de uma piscina ao ar livre com espreguiçadeiras e acomodações com vista do mar. The staff were all professional and extremely helpful which was important as I have a child and elderly family member. The main host, Ferdi, was exceptionally supportive as were the rest of the staff.
