This hotel was very tired and could go with a luck of paint… the bathroom was grubby.. toilet seat had black marks where it had had the enamel scratched off the shower glass had mould at the bottom of it and the shower may was grubby underneath… also the entire room was lacking in any light.. the fans from the kitchen were a constant hum and the bed linen wasn’t big enough for the two single beds they’d put together .. we booked for 2 nights but left after one… the staff were great and food was ok but accommodation was shocking… also accommodation want even in the pub but around the corner I would like someone from customer services to contact me direct about the entire experience please

Sherborne is a perfect small town; historic buildings, compact town centre with a wonderful variety of independent shops and brilliant pub’s and restaurants. Try the Digby Tap for great Real Ale and Tambourinos for a fantastic Italian Restaurant.

    A very interesting town.

A very interesting town. The castle and gardens are well worth a visit. Also the Abbey is magnificent along with the area ribs about. The high street has plenty of interest, with several independent cafes and shops. The town is architecturally attractive. Plenty of cat parks.

This is an excellent country-house hotel as good as anything my wife and I have stayed in and we are experienced travellers. It is comparable to the Woodman Estate on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia, another exceptional country-house hotel. And although other places we have stayed such as the Taj Mahal in Mumbai, the Biltmore in Coral Gables in Miami or the Langham in Melbourne are different sorts of hotels. As a country-house hotel, The Grange at Oborne is up there with some of the best hotels anywhere.

The location fantastic; the staff friendly and helpful; the room superb in furnishings and spotlessly clean; the decor in the room and around the hotel was fabulous; the food was absolutely delicious; the peace and quiet was blissful; it was simply a wonderful stay in an excellent hotel and we can't wait to go back...what a find, delighted! It might be a 3* in facilities (even though it had everything we wanted/needed) but it is unquestionably a 4* in quality and service standards.

self catering. The location was quiet, peaceful, with lovely open countryside views from all windows. If the weather had been kind we would have enjoyed miles of lovely countryside walks, but sadly it rained. A lot. That said it was well placed for visits to Sherborne (for the castle) and Yeovil, for shopping etc. , and a thirty-five minute drive to Weymouth. Other close coastal locations were easily accessible from there.

Fantastic location and very good food in the evening and for breakfast. Good ambience in the bar and restaurant. It is so nice to stay in a hotel that is not part of a chain. The owners were on hand and really cared about giving a friendly and memorable experience. Top marks for this Bedroom was a bit disappointing. Somewhat drab and needed a bit of TLC but the overall stay was great

Beautiful property, extremely happy with our stay. Rupert was a fantastic host, great to chat with, and explained the facilities professionally, also suggested the must do's in Sherborne. We love dogs, and very much enjoyed interacting with Nutmeg (such a character). Breakfast was superb. We will stay again if in the area (which we are planning to do in a few years time!).

price was competitive - but honestly I'd had a long day and if I'd had the energy I'd have just gone straight back downstairs, asked for a refund and left. If I'd slept in the car I would have probably had a better night. staff were nice good location if you need to get into sherborne power sockets next to bed

spacious rooms, comfy beds, simple decor, the tea/coffee/water in a little kitchenette on the same corridor is better than other hotels with kettles in the bedroom. Checking in and out was very simple and owners were very hospitable/flexible on time of arrival.
