The hosts were responsive and very helpful. The information they provided about the accommodations and best travel options were timely and excellent. The apartment was equipped with the amenities as described. The patio had outdoor seating which was perfect for dining outdoors. Because it was off-season, I practically had the beach to myself. I recommend getting a car or at least investigating transportation options before arriving on Salamina. I had difficulty finding the bus stop.Rhonda - 8.0Scored 8.0

A Greek Island almost entirely for Greeks. Most people seem to speak some English, specially in any hospitality places. Not touristy, not glitzy or fashionable - all positive attributes. Its an island next to Athens with some good beaches , good food, and not many tourists. This is not an island for tourists looking for anything...
This is not an island for tourists looking for anything glamorous or totally catered-for. It's a quiet & subdued island frequented by Greeks who have a family property/connection to the place but probably live on the main land most of the year. You need to be well-prepared & don't expect to have a night club, taxi service or cocktail bar nearby! Nevertheless - it's perfect for some peace & quiet without having to travel too far or have to deal with ferries from Pireaus in high-season. The 10 minute crossing from Nea Peramos is great - usually every 30 mins about 6e for 3 persons + car.
