The accommodation was beautiful. We got a small room with a beautiful sunroom attached. We felt like we were in a very special place the whole time we were there. The property has walking trails that we took in the evening to maybe get a glimpse of some nocturnal wildlife. The rooms were very clean. Cleaner than any 5 star hotel I've ever stayed in. The shared kitchenette was suitable for our needs. The owner said upgrades were coming, and with the quality and care she takes with the other parts of the old home, I'm sure it will be amazing. We so wanted to take advantage of the bonfire pit available but ended up too tired after our long days on adventure. There are picnic tables, benches, and lounge chairs on the top of a hill overlooking the picturesque river below. I believe the experience was great value.

Offering self-contained cottages with free on-site parking and free WiFi, GreenGate Cottages are located in Strahan. You can relax on your own private patio. The host had put the heater on before we arrived and it was nice and warm. Everything was very clean and they had gone to a lot of trouble to ensure we were comfortable. It was great after a long, tiring day.

We could park directly outside our cottage and that saved us the torture of moving the suitcases. We could cook in the kitchen and got our laundry done for a small fee. Jill at the reception was nice and helpful with our enquiries, board rental and kayak rental. Patrick's IGA and The Ship That Never Was are all a short drive away. Beautiful sunset at the esplanade.
