It was very well-appointed, clean, toasty inside where it was subzero outside, and the views of the lake were simply amazing. An ideal location for a night on the way to the farthest north. Can possibly be a decent base for trips in Lapland too. Easy to find, even though Google Maps doesn't know about it - thanks to the clear instructions from the host. Free parking, a good kitchen, easy check-in process, a warm and cosy room.

Perfect spot to spend a few nights with friends and explore the Ivalo and Inari area. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the living room is cozy and the bedrooms are comfortable. Bed linen and towels are provided. We had an issue with the sauna and the host was very responsive and made her best to resolve the situation as soon as possible. Highly recommend!

Set a 5-minute drive from Ivalo town centre, Ivalo River Camping offers heated cottages with shared kitchen facilities in the summer time, free parking and free WiFi. The location was wonderful - it felt like I was secluded and out in nature, but in reality I was a short bike ride away from everything I needed (you can borrow bicycles from the reception when there isn't snow, and snowmobiles when there is). Alternatively, I could have walked everywhere but it would have taken a bit longer (although people do this, and I was able to walk to the airport at the end of my stay). The property is easily accessible by bus. It has its own special stop on the route from Rovaniemi to Ivalo. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful, warm. As a solo traveler staying in a hut in the middle of somewhat remote northern Finland, I felt very safe and secure. The accommodations provide you everything you need - a warm, comfortable place to sleep, hot showers, kitchen if needed, WiFi. You can purchase food at reception or go into town. You can drink the tap water. There is hiking, walking, nature scenes to be had in the immediate vicinity. Simply walking or biking alongside the river is such a treat. You are able to see the northern lights outside your cabin when the sky is clear and dark, no need to chase them in a car. I originally wanted to stay in a glass igloo, but they are so expensive. Here, I could look out my window and see how the sky looked, and then take a few steps outside if I wanted to see better, and that provided me with some beautiful scenes. When it's quiet, you can hear huskies barking in the distance, but it's not too loud that you are kept awake. Overall, the ambience is lovely and exactly what I came here for. Hillside Rooms features accommodation in Ivalo. Guests can enjoy garden views. The rooms in the motel are equipped with a coffee machine. It was compacted but had everything we needed. We came back the next night too. It was good to know it just had a microwave. It had a good bed and bathroom with shower.

In the middle of the forest, but with other houses in the area. Very close to the center of Ivalo. There are a lot of beds and they are very nice. There is Wifi internet which is not to fast, but enough for checking your email.

Beautiful accommodation and delicious meals. Lots of activities to do. A highlight was the Husky Sledding and the Wood Barrel Sauna/Ice Swim.

This Finnish Lapland holiday village is situated right by the Ivalo River. It offers double rooms, holiday cottages, a caravan area, summer cottages and a camping area. We had an amazing stay in the Arctic River Rtheiresort. we stayed there for 3 nights with family. they had provided us their best cottage as we had kids with us. the service was exceptional. They called their aurora tour guide at late night on our request just to satisfy our queries. The location is also amazing. We were extremely lucky that we could see dancing aurora from just outside our cottage. Their Husky tour was also amazing.
