The house was well situated between port Ellen and Bowmore, making it an ideal location for exploring the island. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Glenegedale House offers accommodation in Glenegedale and is situated 5 miles from Port Ellen and 6 miles from Bowmore. Each room includes a flat-screen TV. Our hosts Emma and Graeme made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is a feast in itself! Three courses of locally sourced products cooked to perfection. There’s even the option for a tot of single malt on your porridge! The place is spotlessly clean and extremely well decorated, residents have the full run of the downstairs where they can relax in the comfy sofas and enjoy a G&T from the amazing selection of Scottish gins. They also provide evening meals and will happily cater for any special dietary requirements provided you let them know in advance. If you choose to eat out, there are good restaurants in Bowmore, the cleverly named Peatzeria and, in Port Ellen, the Sea Salt Bistro and the Islay Hotel. A visit to one or more of the distilleries on Islay is a must as is a trip to Jura and the wonderful Lussa gin distillery at the far end of the island. Would we stay there again. Absolutely…

Featuring a fitness centre and a garden, Machrie Hotel & Golf Links is situated just outside Port Ellen. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Views over the golf course and across the water were amazing. Spectacular sunsets.

Located in Port Ellen, No. 1 Charlotte Street has a garden, shared lounge, bar, and free WiFi. The rooms in the hotel are fitted with a coffee machine. Very good B&B, very well located, with a comfortable room and a good shower. Fantastic breakfast. An extremely nice supporting room for guests, with a very good infrastructure. Very kind staff. As part of the B&B infrastructure, there is an attached cozy Pub. Drinks can be consumed in a beautiful and relaxing external area, as an extension of the B&B.

The Trout Fly Guest House offers accommodation in the centre of Port Ellen, minutes from the ferry terminal and only 3 miles from our local airport. The breakfast was insanely Good, actually it was by far the best food we ate in Scotland at all. The owner is very friendly and helpful, he will always have some good tips and information for you. The place is warm and cozy. We realy loved it and we can't wait to come back!

Offering sea views, Eilidh’s Guest House is an accommodation set in Port Ellen, 100 metres from White Hart Beach and 2 km from Kilnaughton Beach. Niall was so welcoming and accomodating and the room is exactly as described with a gorgeous view of the beach and a stones throw from a restaurant, takeaway, pub, and post office! It is a perfect location to explore Islay and just around the corner from the start of the 3 distilleries walk.

On Islay’s famous Whisky Coast, in the fishing village of Port Ellen, overlooking the harbour and marina and just 2 hours by ferry from Kennacraig on the Scottish mainland, The Islay Hotel offers a... Location was great - easy walk to the whisky trail. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Boasting a garden, Cala Sith Guesthouse is set in Port Ellen in the Isle of Islay region, 200 metres from White Hart Beach and 2.2 km from Kilnaughton Beach. Beautiful and cozy house, everything was very clean, and our stay was super positive! Location is great, and the breakfast very delicious, and the host as nice as the Scots get ❤️
