Situado entre flores e árvores, apenas a 150 metros da Praia de Kalogria, em Peloponeso, o Amalia Hotel, de gerência familiar, dispõe de estúdios com uma varanda privada com vista para o jardim... We picked Amalia for our three nights of rest in Kalogria, at roughly the mid point of our road trip around the Peloponnese (two/one nights in all the other places). Kalogria is wonderful. It is not somewhere you drive through on the way to anywhere. You have to want to go there, to the end of the road. And it is a gem of a place. The sandy beach, minutes' walk away from Amalia, overlooks Zakynthos and Kephalonia. Nearby there is an amazing lagoon and a densely forested area, parallel to the coast, which are protected nature reserves. Goats and turtles are all around. We had a studio at Amalia, as we were there for three nights. It had a large balcony with plenty of space to sit, a 'day bed' and a hammock chair. Overlooking the shady garden. Lovely. We had a bit of an issue with our rented car on our first day.... It meant that we spent much of the time with the totally amazing owners of this place, who could not have been more helpful. Our time with them took the concept of philoxenia and humour onto a different level! We had the best day - albeit Amalia Hotel bound -, we could ever have imagined! Breakfast is terrific here. The whole gamut of cooked, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juices - and the best filter coffee. We had so much fun. Thank you all at Amalia!

Apenas a 350 metros da Praia de Kalogria, o Villa Dunes dispõe de um jardim com um forno tradicional a lenha. Everything was great. The villa is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. It's especially suitable for guests valuing a calm, quiet stay, as it is secluded and has a big yard with trees hiding it from the rest of the village. The view from the windows is either to the mountains or the yard, both are beautiful in their own right. We stayed there for 2 weeks in August, and although it is very hot during this time of year, we felt great, hidden from the scorching sun by the trees. All rooms have AC and ventilators, which ensure peaceful sleep even in the hottest of nights. The mosquitoes are kept out by window nets. A relaxing beach with a great dune is available some 400 meters from the apartment. The walk to the beach passes alongside a lush forest, and the smells are truly hypnotic. There are 3 bathrooms and the kitchen is well prepared for longer stays. We personally preferred having our breakfasts on the terrace, which also has 2 ventilators to blow away the heat. Our sincere and immense gratitude to Leonidas for being an amazing host, who always ensured we felt home and had everything we might need. Last but not least, there is a family-run tavern Petros some 600 meters away, where we dined every night and always left satisfied.
