Try your luck at popular king crab fishing while staying at Scandic Vadsø. Enjoy the marine environment and beautiful scenery, combined with Vadsø's vivid cultural scene and many festivals. Excellent breakfast and typical of Scandic quality. Mostly the person behind the desk was delightful, personable, helpful and great. Also we got to try out the kicksled (sparks) in the neighborhood that evening which was a memorable and fun experience and so easy because it was right there. Also very helpful is the free parking right by the hotel. Hurrah!

Overlooking the Varangerfjord, the eco-friendly Ekkerøy Holidayhouse is located on Ekkerøy Peninsula. It offers self-catering accommodation with fully equipped kitchens and tiled bathrooms with... Lovely property near the Kittiwake colony and situated perfectly between all the great birding areas in Varanger - it's just a short drive to the airport, Vadsø, Vardø, and Kiberg. We had the eagle house and it was absolutely amazing with views from the living room over the Kittiwakes and the ocean. There is free parking and a great hiking path just behind the house. The house is very well equipped and perfect for cooking meals, making coffee, laundry, etc. Beds are comfy, the curtains are blackout for long summer nights and the area is so quiet (except for the birds of course, but it's wonderful to hear them all day!) The host was incredibly friendly and provided us with lots of great advice about the area. Highly recommend staying here, it's one of our favorite stays of all time!

We liked everything: the spotless clean room and bathroom, the breakfast with fruit and vegetables (and cheeses, ham, eggs, yogurt, marmalade, ...), the balcony with sea view, the staff, the Thai restaurant at the ground floor. The restaurant closes at 9pm (kitchen at 8:30pm). The rooms are at the first floor above the restaurant. From the balcony, where there is a table with chairs, you get inside a small common area where there is a shared fridge, gratuities coffee, tea, biscuits and fruits. Our room was comfortable and very nicely decorated, Norwegian, but colourful.

Ubytovanie Varanger Fisherman's Shed sa nachádza v destinácii Varangerbotn v regióne Finnmark a ponúka terasu a výhľad na mesto. Location was just great for us two persons and two dogs, was peaceful and the view from the terrasse was beautiful toward Nesseby old church nearby and sea. Was enough space in the accommodation. Terrasse was very good as we spent there time during the eves. Also fishing was easy to do ;). Very good place to accommodate and explore the surroundings nearby in Varanger area. We can warmly recommend this place and for sure we´ll be back some day.
