Villa Walton Bed & Breakfast offers accommodation within a historic homestead, established in 1904. From the first moment I parked, I felt comfortable and at-home in Neil and Sue's lovely spot. Both are top-class people, the type you want to hang out with. The property itself is perfection. Wild flowers, chirping birds, the smell of honey suckle in the air, all of nature accompanies your stay. I stayed in the Cottage, which offered nice privacy and lovely quarters, but each of their individual bedrooms in the main house are lovely as well. Breakfast, as many have said, was top-notch. From the property, the amenities, and the way they care, I couldn't ask for a better stay. I'll certainly be back.

Matamata Lodge is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Matamata, where guests can make the most of its garden and barbecue facilities. Everything about this property is amazing and if I had of known how amazing this accommodation was we would have booked for 3 more nights. We are recommending this property to everyone know. Hosts were just beautiful and had us interacting with their farm animals. The attention to detail was amazing. I highly recommend ❤️

The Red Shed is a recently renovated guest house in Matamata, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Host was super nice. She had made homemade bread, cupcakes for the kids for christmas. The location in the farm was awesome. Feeding the sheep by the kids were a bonus. Loved it.

Matamata Central Motel is a 20-minute drive from the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm Tours, where parts of the Lord of the Rings trilogy were being filmed. Location is the best - right next to New World Supermarket and just about 15 min drive to the Hobbiton
