The Decor was great and retro, as if it was out of the Mrs Fisher show

The van served its purpose of somewhere to stop overnight on our travels. It was clean and comfortable. It was reasonably close to the town and to get back onto the highway.

I liked my room at the back of the motel, which seemed quieter.
The room layout was efficient.

The manager is a very nice guy and is keen to make your stay as good as it can be. This is a small country Motel and is great for an overnight stay when travelling or a few days when visiting the New England area. Your car is under cover and the room arrangement suits both summer and winter in the area.

Armidale is a nice little town to drive around and has plenty of dining options. We particularly enjoyed our meal at the Whitebull Hotel - my 2 teenagers and I all thought our meals were some of the best we've ever had.
It's easy to navigate around the town whether driving or walking. There is an information centre in town with lots of pamphlets, maps and relevant info, as well as the place to book and start a historic tour of the town.
We visited to use Armidale as a base for visiting the many National Parks and reserves in the general area. There is so much beauty within a short or moderate drive. Ebor Falls is stunning and a super short walk. New England NP around the Point Lookout area is so beautiful with its Gondwana forest. Cathedral Rock NP is a contrast to this with giant granite boulders and lots of orchids and other flowers at the right time of year. South of Armidale is Apsley Gorge and falls, and Dangar Falls - both had minimal water coming over the falls when we visited, but were still so picturesque and would be amazing to see after a decent rainfall.

We only stayed for one night, on our way home to Queensland.
We only stayed for one night, on our way home to Queensland. We did not have a booking, but it was pet friendly. We googled the restaurants and hotels that were pet friendly, we found the Grand Hotel that catered to pet owners, it was was a lovely hotel, met a few "locals" made us feel at home, the meal was top notch, and our dog was very welcome. If we had more time, we would have loved to to stay in Armidale for few more days. It's a very interesting place to see and do things, we will definitely go back again .

Very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Everything in walking distance. Bowling club next door and Ex Serviceman's club a block away if you want to visit a club. Supermarket across the road. Armidale is a pretty town.

Well laid out town with great options for restaurants, plenty of beautiful buildings and churches to look at. See Saw was a great breakfast coffee shop to fuel up for a big adventurous day.
The city mall center has great potential but the vibe has been affected by economic troubles.
The food was great and of good quality. The breakfast which was hot was much appreciated as opposed to cereals and bread. My partner and I really liked staying at this place - out in the country but not too far from country Armidale. Inside the facility we loved being able to sit in the lounge area on comfortable chairs in front of a large open fireplace. As the kitchen was just in the next room the smell of food being cooked was sensually stimulating.
I chose this motel as it was close (4-5) blocks to The Armidale School, and although I had a car, walked to the school. The motel staff gave a map and stated me in the correct direction. This motel has routine checkin at 1300 which suited me as I had a show at the school at 1400. It's single storey - park at your door, solid brick construction (you don't hear noise from next door) and I thought gave value for money.
Great location within walking distance to plenty of top cafes/pubs/restaurants, spacious modern room, great service, would definitely stay again. My husband and I stayed for a combination of business and leisure plus I was heavily pregnant. The room was perfect having a separate living area with study and room to move. The staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable.
Clean, quiet, well appointed, self contained cabin. Kids enjoyed the "pillow" too
We didn't see staff during our stay, but they were pleasant to deal with on the phone, and good communicators via booking.com/email. A very nice touch was the heater was left on for us when we informed them that we would be arriving quite late on our 1st night.
the property was bigger than the photos let on. everything is well kept and clean and the booking process was super easy and all my questions answered quickly. all the basics were already there in the kitchen and bathroom and driveway parking was a great bonus.
thank you so much!!!! we will be back again.
Tattersalls is hands-down the best location in Armidale. I have stayed at the Rydges and paid far more for far less there. Tattersalls is the only hotel which gives you a proper sydney-style 5 star experience anywhere in the region. I would pay $100 more per night and still be satisfied.
The staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Even though the hotel is located in the CBD I found my room to be quiet, peaceful and restful. I would have no hesitation in staying there in the future and would reccmmend Abbotsleigh to anyone
Freshly renovated air-conditioned room. Lovely continental breakfast with Barista on hand if you want to upgrade to barista coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really good value for money. Would highly recommend and will stay here if we visit Armidale again.
Big room neat and clean, bed made high standard, staffs very helpful and friendly, the reception is amazing, plants are real and beautiful,
Additional Sauna, spa, and swimming pool are awesome, I went to Armidale for work but I felt like I went for a short holiday.
perfect localisation, you can walk for everything, shop or grocery.
Lisa is very nice, she can give some tips in the city and around.
you have a book in the apartment with all activities in et around Armidale.
Spacious room. Picked this hotel due to the twice daily deer feeding. (herd of 10). Has toaster, kettle ,microwave and a large bar fridge. Good location. A continental breakfast is included in room price.
Armidale cottage is perfectly situated. The facilities were excellent, furnishings, are beautiful, well set out and comfortable too. We only wish that we could have stayed for more than 1 night.
The 2 room space was excellent, self contained with a lounge area & kitchen which would suit an extended stay. Bed was large & comfortable. Staff were friendly & accommodating.
The hotel is situated in the centre of the city. It has the potential of being a great provider of accommodation if that aspect of the business is attended to.
Convenient location and excellent facilities. Value for money. Late check-in process went really smooth and greatly appreciate the assistance of hotel staff
