Great location. Very quiet. Close to wineries and the awesome Magpie And Stump Hotel a short walk up the road. The cottage had lots of character and charm. Lovely garden. Nice decor and modern bathroom. Breakfast supplies and wine/chocolate a nice touch. Good communication from staff.

Auburn is a quiet village at the southern end of the Clare valley which makes it a great base for winery adventures and walking around - it is on the Riesling trail. There is a pub and a restaurant as well as a supermarket. The Rising Sun hotel does good dinners (just don’t expect your rare steak to come rare).

We had an overnight stay in Auburn for a quick business trip, so we weren't there to look around at all. However, it is obviously a beautiful area! We had dinner at Sevenhill Hotel - fantastic venue. Our accommodation at Lyreen's was excellent and we will be remembering this B&B for future visits.

Auburn is ideally close to Clare, is at the start of the Reisling Trail, has a great little supermarket and a really nice vibe. Add to that we stayed at the amazing 'Cullen House', a perfect little piece of paradise. All made for an amazing, romantic weekend away.

So central to everything in the Clare Valley.
So central to everything in the Clare Valley. Very easy to get aroundv- in fact we usually walked from our accommodation to the main street. The Riesling / Rattler Trail starts in Auburn at the old Railway Station.
The house was wonderful with the wood fire in the lounge and gorgeous views from the deck. The house was very well equipped, from making toasted sandwiches for lunch, playing pictionary or choosing a movie on Netflix, the owner had set up the house to make us feel very much at home. Most days we rode our bikes along the Riesling trail, explored out the back gate along the Wakefield River with our dogs, or visited cellar doors in the main street of Auburn. One day we drove into Clare and Mintaro for some more great adventures with our 4yr old.
We visited during the Clare Valley Gourmet Festival opening weekend, and so it was pretty busy. We only managed to book for the Sunday evening. We hired mountain bikes from them, and booked over the phone - despite a few missed calls initially, it was a pretty easy process.
We also booked for dinner, which was delicious and served up quickly. The choice of drinks was also above average for a small town pub/hotel.
The other patrons and locals were friendly and had a great sense of humour. I genuinely enjoyed the stay here.
We arrived late at night and left early the next morning, we were just looking for a clean and comfortable place for a quick stop over. We pre-ordered our meals when we were about an hour away which was a great option due to the time we arrived. Meals were yummy. Room was clean and comfortable. Good price and continental breakfast was left in the room for us to prepare ourselves. Accommodation is in separate wing of the hotel so was very quiet.
The breakfast tray was stocked with a fabulous variety of goodies, a full loaf of fresh bread and a coffee maker
The bathroom was huge and the spa was great.
There were a few little things like fresh flowers and good local information that is always nice.
The location was really good, you could walk to everywhere in Auburn and it was right on the bike trails
Auburn Hideaway is delightful! The beds are very comfortable, the wood fire warms the house very quickly and adds to the ambience, the location is very quiet and picturesque and the bird life is wonderful. The complimentary port, cheese and crackers, shortbread biscuits and chocolates were much appreciated. Milk and orange juice was also supplied.
Everything. We were lucky enough to have the whole package - overnight stay and the 4 course dinner at the restaurant with wine pairing. This entire experience is well worth the money. Dan is a legend & has made the Clare Valley and Auburn memorable for us.
Beautiful little cottage, and a great location in the quiet town of Auburn. Wonderful breakfast provisions were provided and the host was great. We also loved the other hospitality touches that made the visit so enjoyable.
Location was perfect, quiet, right on the Riesling Trail and down the road from The Rising Sun hotel and main street.
Great condition inside, very clean throughout. Fantastic bathroom, cosy lounge room.
The mezzanine floor , lovely clean sheets ,amazing position in Auburn great kitchen . Liked all the venues right next door and close by . The wine left for us was lovely surprise
Super clean, well appointed apartment surrounded by tranquil gardens in the heart of Auburn. We appreciated the use of rainwater and the thoughtful notes on all appliances.
