Anglesey House is truly a beautiful property. We certainly felt honoured to be staying in such an iconic house. Spacious and super relaxing beds. Numerous and very clean bathrooms. Very beuatiful sitting areas, both inside and outside. Jeff was very informative and pleasant to meet upon arrival. Vanessa was very pleasant to deal with on the phone.
Offering a bar, a restaurant and a lovely outdoor swimming pool, Town & Country Motor Inn is a 2-minute drive from the town center.

Nice modern room which was well maintained and clean. The licensed golf club clubhouse was at teh end of the motel (not affiliated) so an easy walk for an excellent meal and drinks at the club.

The Sculptures down the Lachlan were spectacular. The McFeeter's Motor Museum is worth a visit. The cafe at the Visitor's Centre is very good and the meals at the Hotel Forbes were very good in taste and value.

I'd recommend Forbes to anybody who likes country towns, it is one of the best I have visited. Nice lake in the middle of the town. Good for dogs and bird watchers as Gum Swamp is dog friendly and has an abundance of birds.

Great local attractions.
Great local attractions. The wetland bird sanctuary was beautiful and I could have spent more time there. This is a great place to spend a couple of days and start the Sculptures down the Lachlan drive. We had some great local food and coffee and the town looked beautiful and clean. Lovely to walk around.

Room was spacious. Comfortable beds.
Room was spacious. Comfortable beds. Clean Water was hot and plentiful. The room had tall ceilings. Have a feeling of spaciousness. Walls were thick so there was no. Pose heard from anyone else Yea and coffee and milk were provided. There was a box to leave your keys when you left. It was in a picturesque place where you could walk by the lake

Forbes is a lovely little country town, but it packs a punch!
While we were there for an event which was top notch and well worth the effort (Grazing down the Lachlan) the town has much more to offer the tourists.
Don’t miss the bird hides and water way a short drive out of town, then there is the sculpture trail, also of first class quality.
Check out the park lands and wander the streets to admire the architecture.
You could even join in the Dragonboating on a Sunday , or just watch as they paddle their way up and down the lake which is front and centre of the township.
Also do the lake walk and see the indigenous trail, and look out for the pelicans, they can number in the dozens on a good season, a surprise so far inland.
There was a change of managemet since my last stay. Still was very easy to check in, not very busy, but was middle of the week, so didn't get crowded. Pretty good value for the tarrif. The downside is there wasn't a restaurant attached, but that just makes you go and look for something. Forbes has many good eateries, my favourite is the Post Office Hotel, which is in easy walking distance over the Lake from the motel.
Colin is a friendly and happy host.
location of motel was great. Nice park with a walking track by the lake across the road and nice easy stroll into town. watching the bird life by the lake was nice. I’ve stayed at other motels in Forbes but I’ll only come back here.
We had a lovely time. It is a nice hotel for a good price in a great spot. The pet friendly bit is the best thing, as I go everywhere with my dog, who loves travelling and nobody batted an eyelid at the fact that he is a large dog.
This motel is in a great position to walk to most things in Forbes. While it is an older style motel, it was clean and very comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful in making suggestions for places to eat and where to go.
Well located close to the Forbes Services Club and not far from the shopping district. There was also access to part of the Lake walk around Lake Forbes. The ramp from the outside Car park to the room was appreciated
Very clean and tidy Motel.
Lovely owners
For an older motel it has had a good refresh, liked the little things, like a decent TV (not an el cheapo)
I tend to like older Motels as the rooms are generally bigger
The motel is a brilliant place for a stay in Forbes. The rooms are clean and very comfortable with all the amenities covered. It is located across the road from the Forbes RSL club and bakery too.
Great little place to stay in Forbes. Everything is neat and tidy and the hosts were lovely.
Was nice and comfortable to work from for the day :)
I’ll be back again.
