La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes.

La Paz is a big city with a lot of people and many homes. It has a high altitude, recommend altitude pills. The city has varying heights, for instance you are going up and down a mountain to get to the other side of the city. When you are on top you can see the bowl with many many houses. There is a cable car to take you from the bottom of the mountain and one neighborhood to the top of the mountain to another neighborhood. There are several beautiful landscapes in La Paz. Valley of the moon, valley of the souls, etc... There is also a lot of shopping in the city.

An authentic South American large city still evolving. Everywhere you go you realized this is not for tourists, this is really a nation which has its own identity and you feel it in everything. If you don't speak Spanish then get ready to learn. People very friendly, and living history everywhere. Leave a day for the 2 hour trip to the jungle area for the La Senda Verde animal rescue area.

La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes.

La Paz is in a unique situation, surrounded by the Andes. Its cable car transport system is both practical and a spectacular treat for tourists. It is far better to use this than to use ground transport; the roads in the city are chaotic. The people are friendly and helpful, there are very good restaurants. From La Paz a traveller has access to amazing places to visit, from Lake Titicaca, at over 4000 metres above sea level, to the Yungas, which form part of the Amazonian basin forest system. You have to be careful to have a heart and blood-pressure check before visiting La Paz, as its altitude can be stressful for anyone with a heart condition. But I have been there on a number of occasions, and find it fascinating. The street life and the many local gifts based on alpaca and llama wool are two special features.

Location was great! Walking distance from Church Santo Domingo, calle Linares, and so close to the Red cable car station. Loved the local art around the Hotel, and inside the rooms. All painted and decorated. They have a restaurant on site, and elevators. The breakfast was good. Served at the 4th floor, with a view of the city. Joana at the Reception was amazing! Very attentive to our needs, and very helpful at all times. I was allowed to check in early after a long overnight trip from Uyuni to La Paz! Very much appreciated.

The hotel has a beautiful lobby, decorated with images of Native Bolivians. The staff at the hotel were prompt and helpful. The size of the room was a bit more spacious than I expected and the views of the surrounding mountains made me want to hang out by the windows while I was in the room. Everything in the room was very clean but it is worth mentioning that I truly enjoyed using the shower (lots of water pressure and very hot like I like it). I slept so well that it cost me immensely to wake up so early for my tours.

This was a great hotel - as it is an aparthotel, the rooms were large with separate bedroom with a large king size bed. We had just come from a tour of the more remote areas of Bolivia where accommodation was very basic, so the relative luxury of this hotel was very welcome. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the city. There are a lot of dining options in the area and it is close to a cable car station with access to various parts of the city

I liked the interior and smell of the lobby very much. Hotel show artists works which I really appreciate. Also they much the atmosphere. The room was clean and nice. The hot water was stable and hot. I often had this problem in Bolivia. The stuffs were kind and friendly though some do not speak English well. I asked to warm up the hot tub in the swimming pool and it was quickly done. If there were sauna and a roof top bar it may be much better.

Location is excellent. Hotel is amazing. For the long history of the building, it shows in a lot of details of beautiful decorations we don't normally see in present day buildings. I enjoyed and admired of those old artistically carved/decorated wooden doors. I love the hotel. The staff are the best. I will come back to this hotel again if I come back to La Paz.

Nice, welcoming place! We stayed there several times (as you don‘t really manage not to travel via La Paz when you visit different places in Bolivia). Always left parts of our luggage there (free of charge). Breakfast was good (I can’t understand the people complaining about having to pay for eggs in previous reviews - it’s super cheap, so what’s the problem?).

Probably the best hostel in La Paz. Very comfortable and clean, and not too busy so you might have the whole dorm room to yourself. The breakfast is nice, a bit basic but you can always upgrade it for a few Bolivianos. You can eat on the terrace with a wonderful view of the city. Great laundry service. First normal European breakfast in Bolivia after 1 week of traveling. There is all what you need in self service arrangement. Although no heating in the room nor restaurant area, everything was very good furnished and clean. Hot water in the shower is very important in Bolivia, as no hotel has it, except this one, so thumbs up :)!
