Nothing. Cheap and crap. Noisy. Tiny room. Woke up scratching my skin. Something was in the bed!!
Near the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, the Econo Lodge hotel in Montmagny, Quebec is the perfect place to begin your exploration of this Canadian province.

Staff were superb. Alex, Karin plus their support Staff.
Located in Saint-Joachim, 5.3 miles from Sainte Anne de Beaupre Basilica, La Belle Excuse has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.
The hotel was clean and quiet. However, and this is a big minus, because we booked on line (Booking.com) we were limited to a room on the second floor. No elevator or escalator, just a long flight of stairs. Very difficult for me to navigate, as I had a recent knee replacement. This 2nd-floor-if-you-book-on-line was not evident on the Booking.com site. The clerk made no effort to accommodate our request to have a ground floor room, at the same price, despite the fact that the hotel was far from full. Also: the restaurant is a St Hubert next door, although linked to the hotel. The food was terrible.

Our time in Montmagny was centered around the old city I think they call it. It is a clean quiet and historic part of the city and very pleasant. A river divides the area and the river mouth features a wide but shallow waterfall and ferry terminal to the islands.

A strong history 350 years and a sense of the achievements over this time - beautiful views of the St Lawrence en route and on arrival - many locales to visit here -music /accordian competition and free performances, trails along the river and a beautiful drive along the river both east and west on the 132
some other great dining to be had beside Maison Rousseau -

We were given a room in the motel section across the road from reception. It was clean and quite modern but had a ‘sterile’ fell about it, which I guess a lot of people like these days.
At check in you can prepay $8 p.p. for a breakfast in the restaurant attached. It was a nice cosy restaurant, polite staff, the breakfast was well presented and good value.
We would probably stay again if out that way.

A lovely spot to unwind!
A lovely spot to unwind! Beautiful parks, clean, home proud and safe neighbourhood’s to walk through. This area loves Pee Gee Hydrangea’s, they are everywhere on mass! Various species..
There were a few old cars out on Sunday, even a beautifully restored/ (pumped up inside) Hudson!!! Equipped with the original owner in the back seat...a skeleton🤣😂
We didn’t get to take the Ferry to the Islands due to limited time and tide flows...but those who had been said they are pristine!

Beautiful well maintained chalet.our problem with the door...
Beautiful well maintained chalet.our problem with the door code was quickly solved but we would in future recommend confirming this number. We were two couples and really appreciated the space and comfort
Extremely convenient location just off the highway and near grocery, dollar store, pharmacy and restaurant is attached to the hotel. Gas station immediately next to property so you can gas up before hitting the road again. Although weather wasn't suitable for using the outdoor pool, it is a really clean, inviting pool that would be amazing on a great summer stay.
Enroute to PEI, I booked this Hotel for one night. We were so pleased with the rooms, that we pre-booked for one night on our return to Toronto.
The atrium is the highlight filled with tropical plants, caged lovebirds, indoor swimming pool and whirlpool. There is also an outdoor pool surrounded by beautifully kept grounds and sitting areas.
the property was clean and attractive, the pool looked inviting though we didn’t have time to try it. the hotel was clean and comfortable. the room was clean, comfortable, quiet and well-appointed. continental breakfast was nicely done. the young woman worked hard to keep everything filled and clean.
The location was great in the old part of the city. Parking was free on the street. Interesting shops and restaurants nearby. It is a nice old building which could be made into a very cosy and chic hotel with some loving care and upgrade. Its potential is not being recognized or used.
The greenery, and the restaurant! This hotel became a must when I travel this route! Have to spend a night: most relaxing and enjoyable! The staff deserve a gold star for succeeding to accommodate us, in our preferred room! The package supper and breakfast very appealing
Breakfast was terrible fruit cup and a couple of mini terrible tasting muffins .Took some home to my grandson and he did not like them. They could have done much better I know COVID changed things but the other 2 hotels we stayed at did a great breakfast.
We stayed here on a previous trip, so we knew it would be clean and the bed would be comfortable. The on-site restaurant serves good food at a decent price. The staff in the hotel and restaurant are good representatives of their establishments.
It’s just ok for a night in your journey. But remember never used Restaurant connected to Hotel Lobby, they’ll rip you off like just for a black coffee charge you $4.00 !! You can imagine the rest !!
We left before the breakfast was available as we needed to be on the road again. Hotel was quaint as was our room. Nice area to take a walk and cafe's nearby to eat dinner.
So very clean and modern. Finally a hotel that got rid of their horrible rugs. So tired of the horrible hotels with their dirty carpets . Liked the new style comforter also.
Easy to locate hotel, friendly staff and access to the room was possible from the outside (motel style), which was ok given that we had a few things to bring in.
