Hotelli Helmi, hotel in Turku

Hotelli Helmi is located in central Turku, 492 feet from Turku Concert House. It offers rooms with free WiFi and private bathrooms with a shower.

The woman working at the reception desk who checked me in, and also kept in touch with me up until my arrival was absolutely amazing! She even waited past closing time for me to get there! They closed at 8pm and I couldn't get off the ferry until 745pm. I got there around 815pm so I'm happy she didn't have to wait long! But honestly, people are never that nice or accommodating! She even booked a taxi to pick me up at 6am the next morning. The location was not far from the main train station, 4 miles from the airport I think, restaurants all around as well as shopping. I only needed to rest my head for the night and it was the perfect place. No frills, just 2 single beds, a bathroom with a shower, TV, and a little refrigerator. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Finland! Finland has the nicest people on earth! And not just because the news says they are, they truly are wonderful people and a great, beautiful country! ❤️

Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone, hotel in Turku

This boutique hotel is housed in a building dating back to the 1920s. It is centrally located in Finland's oldest city, Turku.

The staff was absolutely excellent, everyone of them! They even let me check in a little earlier which was great because I had a long travel day. The room was gorgeous and super clean. The shower was great as well as the soap, shampoo, ect. they provided. The location was perfect! I was able to walk to the hotel from the main train station easily, and also walk to many places of interest. I walked to Logomo to see a concert and felt absolutely safe walking back to the hotel by myself, as a solo female traveler. I would 100% recommend this hotel and I will definitely be staying here again. I go to the beautiful country of Finland every year, it's a breath of fresh air! Oh, and the breakfast was excellent! And I'm a picky eater!

It is a good experience from spring until autumn. In between everything is gloomer with less opportunities. At any time of year, you should not expect that most people will meet your eyes nor smile. Nature is nice and during the summer there are possibilities visiting archipelago. If you are in the downtown, don't forget to visit over 100 year old Turku market hall, where you can have a great lunch and feel the local vibe. There are also plenty of unique nature walks around the sea or forests close b

Nice places to visit: Turku Castle, Cathedral. The city is beautiful and very clean. Ate a couple of times at Timbuktu. Very nice African restaurant. Public transport is cheap, on-time and convenient. It is 3 euros for two hours on any bus line. The city doesn't sleep in summer time. Firsthand experience!

Just a lovely city with plenty of attractions to visit, naval history, medieval castle, lovely parks, plenty of choice regarding eating out (recommend Panimoravintola Koulu; Lone Star (burgers, fries)), easy to get around by walking, bike and/or scooter. Great base for exploring the islands of the Turku Archipelago. Must see attractions include Luostarimaki open air history quarter, walking or running along the Aura river, Turku medieval castle at Linnanpuisto park, Ispoinen beach and Sauna; various historical sailing ships along the Aura.

I went to Turku for Knotfest, so I didn't have enough time to see all the views. But, since I've been to Turku many times, I can tell you that it is an excellent place to visit with many sights to see, and not overly touristy. I recommend seeing Turun Linna (Turku castle), the River Aura, the old wooden neighborhoods, and the Turku cathedral. If you are traveling on a budget, the public transport system works well, unless you use it after midnight when music festivals have just finished, such as Knotfest. In that case, be prepared to get ditched by bus drivers. For cheap food, you can download the ResQ app to buy cheap lunches from restaurants and help reduce food waste in the process. The apartment is located very close to the city center, but in a very nice and quiet area. The old houses of Lonttinen are very charming. The neighborhood is very dog friendly and there is even a dog park close by. You can easily walk everywhere. The apartment is spacious and light and has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Turku. I immediately felt like at home when I entered and my dog was very comfortable too. It is very welcoming and homely. Definitely highly recommend!

The new Hamburger Börs Hotel in Turku was inaugurated just a few months prior to our visit and consequently everything was new. Good and stylish materials had been used in the room. There was ample space for storage, bathroom included. The design of the restaurant/breakfast room was a bit sombre, though. The breakfast buffet selection was very good, typical Scandinavian. The hotel has a nice rooftop bar. The front desk personnel was polite and most helpful.

Excellent location, just stroll down 400 meters along Aninkaistenkatu to the river Aura and visit the cathedral to the left or Aboa Vetus Ars Nova on the right, and everything the Turku riverfront has to offer. I spent 4 nights in this room. I mostly appreciated the minimal design and the smart check-in/out procedures. The room is quite large, clean, and has most everything you need. A high-performing WI-FI and the location are other pluses. This hotel is located in the heart of Turku, thus making quite easy to reach the main attractions this city offers.
