The building itself is amazing. Great seafront location. Lovely Victorian feel to the lobby especially. The rooms were nice and clean, though 1 did have a strange odour.
The staff were really good on what will have been a busy weekend for them.
I think some of the reviews I read were harsh, as this is a lovely hotel. It seems like the staff run a tight ship with little resources, and managed it well.

Friendly welcome, plenty of parking, nice clean room with fresh crisp white sheets and towels. The shared facilities are kept clean and always available when I wanted to use them. My friends joined me for an evening meal in the pub and all 3 of us really enjoyed our food. Oh and dog friendly too!

Evening dinner (one night only) - food superb but 45 min wait for main and 30 min for dessert for disappointing.

Didn’t spend much time in Ayton but the area looked lovely and it was very quiet and peaceful where we were staying. Everyone we met was really friendly. Some nice local pubs and fish and chip shops in very easy reach of our property.
Not too far to travel to Scarborough seafront we also went to Bridlington, Whitby, Pickering, Haworth and Esholt so many beautiful places and so much more we didn’t have time to fit in. Already planning our next trip.
