Custom House Hotel, hotel in Bowling

Featuring a garden and a terrace, Custom House Hotel is located in Bowling, 9.3 miles from Glasgow Botanic Gardens and 10 miles from University of Glasgow.

Loved the location. Local cafe staff very friendly. Apart from the cycle path (no cycle hire) there were no immediate places to go. The house itself was lovely, we would come again.

Good clean hotel, convenient for those with a car, at an excellent price. It's out of town but right off main road, a 20 min walk to Dalmuir station and a £22 taxi back on Sat night from middle of Glasgow if not driving. Small but well equipped business-hotel style room. All in, very good.

Holiday Inn Express - Glasgow Airport, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Bowling

Just a short walk from Glasgow Airport Terminal Building, this Holiday Inn Express has a 24-hour front desk and on-site parking. The hotel is just off the M8 motorway.

It was budget-friendly, right at the airport for a one-night stay (but we would have happily stayed more nights!), breakfast included was great and having bar in the lobby (and options for other meals/snacks) was lovely. Room was immaculate! Staff were great! The room was tight for space with the sofabed open but it was great that our family of four could be accommodated in one room - so no complaints.

The Golden Jubilee Hotel, hotel in Bowling

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel is a luxury hotel located on the banks of the River Clyde. It offers stylish, modern bedrooms, and spa and leisure facilities.

Room, breakfast, dinner all good. Swimming pool handy. Didn't use the gym but it looked well equipped. Car parking plentiful and free of charge. Access to hospital was primary reason for visit, as a relative was having care - extremely handy for that.

It was a pleasant location and all the facilities were there for a self catering location but you have to be able to access your e-mail for information to gain access to the property when you get there ( you need a mobile phone )

The hotel is the old customs house for Bowling Harbour (...

The hotel is the old customs house for Bowling Harbour (hence the name) which is the start/end of the Forth & Clyde canal, so if you enjoy local history there is plenty to keep you entertained, but if you are looking for tons of shopping and night life I suggest Glasgow city center, if you are looking for relaxed comfort this is for you. The hotel is in somewhat of a quirky location, but do not let this dissuade you, that is part of the charm of the building and surroundings

Bowling is on the train line, so it is handy to travel into Glagow from there, alternatively you could cycle or walk on the cycle trail. There is bicycle hire shop in Bowling, as well as a lovely cafe next door. Although the only pub in Bowling does not serve food, they offered to arrange a take away delivery for us. People in the pub were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely go back
