Plato's, hotel in Burton

Set in a picturesque market town, Plato's offers boutique hotel accommodation, a stylish bar and free Wi-Fi. There is good access to the M6 motorway.

Have stayed here several times and find it very warm and homely. My daughter booked this for me, she got me a cosy standard room and requested it be on the 1st floor as I have arthritis in my knees, this room was on the second floor so they gave me an upgrade to a superior on the first floor which I was most grateful for.

I liked how the person on duty took time to make us a meal, when they had no chef, she was very friendly and surprised me with Broccoli and stilton soup, delicious. Plenty of room in the car park.

Longlands Inn & Cottages, hotel in Burton

The Longlands Inn & Cottages is located in a lovely rural setting, yet only 5 minutes from the M6 motorway.

The staff were exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The bar and restaurant areas were modern and well maintained. The bedrooms were about average size for this type of property but the rooms were exceptionally clean, the bedlinen and pillows were very comfortable. Gluten free food was available at breakfast and in the restaurant and, again not trouble to provide and prepare. Plenty of car parking.

The Silverdale Hotel, hotel in Burton

Set in Silverdale, 21 km from Trough of Bowland, The Silverdale Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

The owner and staff were brilliant. Hospitality 2nd to none. The food and atmosphere were really good. Felt 'homely and welcoming ' The room was large and well equipped. Great bathroom, and the shower was better than most places I have stayed in, it was brilliant! The two previous hotels I stayed in, didn't have hot water! So maybe I appreciated The Silverdale more!!! Definitely stay here again, without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you.

It's an interesting village with lots of history especially using a leaflet/guide purchased (50p) from the local Post Office/Village Store. As with many small villages it has lost the majority of its small businesses and there appears to be many houses unoccupied (second homes?) or semi-derelict. There are many interesting places and things to see without having to travel long distances so could be attractive as a base.

We go here at least three times a year mostly for a week, it’s lovely sitting on the balcony of the apartment we hire and the ducks just love us feeding them, the area is great for couples and it’s a great location to the local area. Plenty of shops and restaurants in Carnforth. We always go to the canal turn in Carnforth, there is a nice chip shop not far from the Tesco supermarket. It’s a very dog friendly place most pubs accommodate your dog.

We had a pleasant stay in the Kings Arms hotel. Stayed there for 2 nights. Adrian, the manager is very friendly. It was a nice homely place. We had booked a deluxe double room as well which was quite spacious. Quite flexible check in timings. We, in fact checked in quite late around 1030 pm. Beautiful breakfast, sumptuous and fulfiling.

Old fashioned coaching inn with some character and a popular and good local pub for the village. A good range of beers and very friendly bar staff. Good breakfast and a reasonable restaurant menu. Our stay of 2 nights was good value for money and Burton is within easy reach of the Southern Lakes and Kendal.

The room we had was fabulous, especially having dogs. We could just take them straight out onto the courtyard. Lots of space in the room. The couple who run the pub and hotel were very hospitable.
