This was our second stay here and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a lovely venue and a very comfortable place to lay your head after a day shopping in Bury St Edmunds. Our booking warned of building work in progress but we heard nothing and wasn’t affected in any way by this. Excited by the new development and looking forward to staying in the new rooms sometime soon.

Very comfortable and very friendly. Staff are great. There was a very minor issue with the breakfast timings (not their fault), and they were on it immediately and with great humour.
Very highly recommended.

How can Bury Saint Edmunds disappoint? Historic place, old Abbey, wonderful Cathedral. I was there to visit Ickworth in nearby Horringer, where the Lords of Bristol Hervey lived. It is a National Trust site, Gorgeous walking trails. Well worth a visit. Suffolk is as beautiful as Yorkshire in my opinion. I am a Harvey (Hervey) descending from the same ancestors. Bury has great restaurants. Wonderful small town.

Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful Town with plenty of lovely places to visit. It has a very unspoilt, almost old fashioned feel to it. There are plenty of great Independent shops and also larger more recognisable high street chains. The Abbey Gardens are beautiful especially in the Summer time.
You are spoilt for choice with the selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs to eat in. The Apex is a fantastic venue to watch a show in or just wander in and have a coffee.

Bury St Edmunds is a wonderfully historic English town with a slower pace than Cambridge. It’s definitely a really nice change from busy London. I would stay in Bury St Edmunds over Cambridge. Just take the train to Cambridge for a day and then come back to the calm of Bury St. Edmunds to enjoy your precious time minus the tourists.

Bury St Edmund’s is a very English town full of heritage.
Bury St Edmund’s is a very English town full of heritage. The Abbey Gardens and ruins are beautiful and well maintained. The town is full of small gourmet restaurants and quaint cafes. Giggling Squid restaurant is amazing! There are plenty of shops for buying gifts and a regular market on Wednesdays. You do not need a car to get around this town.

What a lovely time we had ! I mentioned to Chris that it was a short break for our 9th wedding anniversary , and arrived at the property to see a bottle of sparkling wine and a lovely card wishing us all the best for our anniversary break...create thought and wonderful gestures! The property was cosy and quaint and very clean . All the amenities worked well and the whole stay was excellent. Would highly recommend this property over staying in a single room B&B or hotel for anyone visiting Bury St Edmunds.
Nice Hotel conveniently located just off A14, with plenty of free parking, but you must register your car number in reception. Easy 25 minute walk into Bury town centre. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The room was very clean, and the bed comfortable and for the price we paid, was, we thought, great value for money. The breakfast was good, a help yourself buffet and restaurant large and clean. We booked last minute but would stay again if in area.
We arrived on time and straight away we knew we had booked a fantastic hotel.
The place is amazing and the history of the building made us realise just how special this place is.
Our weekend wasn’t about budget is was based on finding the perfect location closest to the town centre.
Honestly, The Old Cannon Brewery ticks every box in my opinion.
And the hospitality of the staff was exceptional 10 out of 10

Great pub and accommodation. The landlord and landlady were most accommodating during our two night stay. Our room No 3 was brilliant warm and comfortable decorated to a very high order with everything we could possibly need. Situated in the Eastgate district of Bury Saint Edmunds lovely Old buildings and very quiet and a park opposite leading to the main town and cathedral and ruins. The food was great it's a definite return for us.
We've been to Bury Saint Edmunds before (a number of times - visiting friends in the area) - but, have never been to the Dog and Partridge. It's a brilliant location, the staff are friendly, the room was clean and spacious. The bar area is vast - with loads of places to sit and enjoy in comfort. The white wine was yummy. We'd been fed by friends nearby before arrival - so, we didn't eat - but, will do when we stay 'next.
10 is not high enough for this charming hotel. Everything was beyond excellent. Nigel and his wife deserve all the highest praise. Lovely full English breakfast prepared by them for all the guests. Rooms were very comfortable, even during England's hottest times. They even offered to take us to the train station when it was too early for taxis.
The location was excellent. Parking can be difficult in town centre. It's right on the street so quite noisy with windows open. The noise was fine to deal with given the perfect location and having an amazing view of the cathedral from the living room and bedroom. Apartment was clean and comfortable.
House was lovely inside, with all facilities you would want. Decor was homely and the bed was really comfortable! I enjoyed staying in a house rather than being cooped up in a hotel room. Properly is close to town so it was easy to get to shops and restaurants etc.
Travelling for work at the hospital. Hotel is in a very good location, short walking distance from town centre and the hospital.
Quentin and his staff were exceptional, went out of their way to be helpful and make the stay enjoyable and hassle free,
Lovely house in a brilliant location on a street full of independent quirky shops and restaurants.
Well equipped and the welcome pack was excellent.
Sue responded quickly to a minor query.
Beautiful building, a very short walk to the pretty town centre and cathedral. Lovely room, nicely furnished. Parking next to the hotel. A great breakfast with friendly service!
All satisfactory. Typical hotel. Pleasant staff. Town centre a short walk through Abbey Gardens. Bus stop very conveniently located as was Sainsburys supermarket.
