Our bedroom was nice as fairly newly decorated.
It was clean & comfortable.
Dinner was quite nice apart from the dry mushy peas.

Comfortable room.
Friendly staff.
Exceptional breakfast.
Lovely house and gardens.
Room well suited for disability access but poorly located...
Room well suited for disability access but poorly located beside front door and in corridor leading to busy bar and busy rear conservatory areas. Hotel popular with local, noisy, rowdy young drinkers, all swearing loudly, females screaming at each other constantly rather than conversing naturally. Speaking as a mother of 2 students and former Secondary School Teacher this establishment’s bar guests did not represent themselves, the local neighbourhood, Scottish tourism positively and I would most certainly not recommend this establishment for families. The Guests in 2 other rooms, although situated on the upper floor were also unable to experience the relaxing Sat evening watching TV they had envisaged and like us, did not receive an apology the following day from those responsible for mismanaging the situation.

We had a family room that was quite spacious.
We had a family room that was quite spacious. The hotel is very easy to find and is a good break night if travelling further north. Although it is situated on the outskirts of town it is very quiet and peaceful with very good views.
During our stay we ate in the hotel bar and found the menu selection to be the standard fayre expected on a pub menu. All well cooked and reasonably priced for a travelling family.
The staff were polite and friendly.

The staff were great.
The staff were great. The new owners need to get in touch with Booking.com (or the other way round and amend the info sheet). The faults were minor and didn't cause me any problems. The more fastidious might have had issue. It was the best nights sleep I have had in ages
We picked Clovenfords hotel due to its location on our journey upto Edinburgh for a long weekend. Helped to break the journey up and capture some of the epic scenery along the way. The staff were very helpful and polite. We found the room to be quite spacious and comfortable albeit basic, however we did not expect anything more than that. As the hotel had a bar we found the prices for both food and drink to be very reasonable with a good selection off the menu.
This is a lovely little village hotel in a fantastic location for exploring the Borders. It is a work in progress but that doesn't take away from the honest Scottish hospitality we received. Our room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The food was excellent, especially the fish and chips also breakfast was great with all of our requests catered for without any hassle. We will be back😊
The owner/manager was very accommodating, with a super calm and comfortable manner. For us, the hotels position was perfect, being close to the Newcastle ferry port.
Food wise, we found it tasty, nicely cooked with a good presentation. The best things was answering e-mails in my room, and every so often going next door to the bar and getting a pint!!
Everything was just as good as my last booking here.
Place is spotlessly clean and well decorated and furnished
Good clear instructions
No hassle, very friendly
Lovely place to visit Galashiels, Melrose and Jedburgh towns.
On street parking in front of cottage. Local hotel 50 yds away serving great food.
Highly recommend Thanks mo
The hospitality of the owner was outstanding. The place was nice and comfortable with an interesting history. The food was AMAZING! we enjoyed the pizza, chicken fingers and soup of the day which was tomato; then the breakfast was AMAZING too, with French toast, scrambled and over easy eggs
The house is lovely and in a gorgeous location. It is clean and very welcoming. Ishbel had left us milk, juice, bannock bread among many other home comforts. The local area is beautiful and the Clovenfords hotel also serves excellent food, so that’s also well worth a visit.
It was ok and we had a free breakfast. The hotel is a little far out to be able to go and have dinner elsewhere and no shops cafes etc nearby. It is quiet but on a main road through the village. Ok for one night but doubt if I would stay longer.
Breakfast snd evening meals were both tasty and big helpings
Staff were very polite friendly and helpful
Parking good
Quiet village
Lovely village hotel
