Food quality is excellent, albeit dinner being north of £50/head, to be expected that close to London, breakfast was decent.
Can’t rate DUCK HOUSE highly enough. The grounds are superb with two beautiful ponds with friendly ducks and other wildlife around. A beautiful place to retreat and enjoy the tranquility. The house was spotless and very comfortable. There is easy access to historic Hever Castle (well worth a visit) and Chartwell - Winston Churchills home but unfortunately didn’t have time to see it this visit.
We had family around to visit us one afternoon as we were celebrating our sons engagement and they all said they wanted to stay there as well so you can tell how impressive it was - hope we will be back one day !!

Cowden itself is small and unfortunately when we stayed it...
Cowden itself is small and unfortunately when we stayed it was full of road works, looks a nice little village but doesn't have much in the way of any shops, didn't try the pub so cant really comment.
There are far nicer places to visit nearby so don't let that put you off
