The staff were very welcoming and the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The real treat were the meals. Breakfast was outstanding with options for all and two special Scottish choices. Dinner in the restaurant was also excellent with generous helpings and value. NJ

Exceptional accommodation. Very welcoming hosts, fantastic room with lots of unexpected extras (like a mini fridge for chilled milk and flannels in the shower room). Breakfasts were amazing, lots of options, well presented, and extremely tasty. Would def recommend as a place to stay.
Newburgh Inn is located 10 minutes from Aberdeen and Ellon, a 5-minute walk from a sandy beach and Forvie National Nature Reserve, home to a seal colony.

Slightly biased as it was the town were I was born so I was not a complete stranger to the town. Had only passed through over the past 50 years. It is a nice town, adequate shops and catering options for a short stay. There are several hotels and I imagine they have restaurants and lounge bars, the Station Hotel definitely has. There are several walks around the area - I picked up a leaflet showing these. There is a nice picnic and parking area down by the river Ythan. There is a cycling/walking path along what used to be a railway line which is ideal for getting to some local villages. The bus service from Aberdeen is perfectly adequate and there is also a park and ride scheme and retail park on the outskirts of the town. Ellon is ideally situated for visiting other towns and villages in the area. I was visiting family so did not have much change to sightsee.

I flew to Ellon via Aberdeen for a funeral and did not look around Ellon. Because of the lack of flights I had to stay 2 nights at The Buchan and on the second day my room and towels and bed etc were left unattended. I got back to the hotel around 9 pm and everywhere was locked up and no staff found.

Ellon is a lovely town on the banks of the river Ythan with an array of excellent cafes and restaurants. If you have a car it is an ideal base for exploring Aberdeenshires wonderful coastal beaches including Collieston, Cruden Bay, Newborough. There is excellent golf in the area too as well as historic castles and houses: Haddo House, Castle Fraser and Fyvie nearby.
Superb apartment in the centre of Ellon, with access within 10m to the riverside path ( which also is part of the local parkrun course)
Beautifully furnished.
Breakfast is continental style, left in the fridge the evening before - plenty of meat, cheeses, yogurt, bread, croissant, jam , milk juice, etc.
private parking is a little tricky initially as it is down a narrow lane but actually easy enough to reverse into.
20 minmute walk to Brewdog brewery, 10 minutes down the riverside path to Aldi for provisions.
Easy access to property, ideal secure garden for the dogs, excellent size kitchen and well equipped and good sized bedroom's, clean on arrival, and living room a good size for a family, nice and quiet location with short walk to ythan hotel which does great food, although not dog friendly in restaurant but good undercover seating outside for you and dogs. Overall a great property in a great location with easy access nearby beaches and supermarkets.
Everything was very pleasent and comfortable. We stayed In a room that was recently renovated, and it looked great and both bed and sofa were very comfortable. Shower was great - very good water pressure and a sophisticated mirror that thaws the condensation by itself and tells the time.
Staff was very nice and helpful - in the hotel as well as the restaurant and bar. We had a blast at the bar.
So yes, definitely will recommend to anyone.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and although only 2 stars we have stayed in 3 star hotels who would be in a worse condition. The staff were great and it was good value for money. Bedroom was large and bathroom had a walk in shower all in excellwnt condition. Breakfast was very good. All in all we would be more than happy staying there again
This was a nice little spot to stop for us between Aberdeen and Inverness and the proximity to the seal beach was wonderful! The staff were really friendly, the room was well equipped, and there was a great bathroom. Nice restaurant where we had an excellent dinner (and huge whisky selection) and delicious breakfast with great options!
Hotel is on the edge of a lovely little village and ideally located for access to beach and river estuary, where nature lovers can see seals and lots of seabirds.
The hotel is not fancy but has a good atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful.
Food was excellent both dinner and cooked breakfast.
Also dog friendly.
Would stay again.
The location was perfect for me. The host was friendly and informative. Lovely big back garden, close to the beach and the seals. Close to the bus and it wasn’t too bad getting around. Very easy to get to Eberdeen. As a solo female traveller I felt safe in all Newburgh and Ellon travels.
Jo was a wonderful host and made sure I was comfortable. Lively comfortable
bed and facilities plus gorgeous breakfast. Lots of choice at breakfast. Will be going back over the next several years whilst my son is studying medicine up in Aberdeen!!!!
We couldn't fault the hotel. The bedroom was first class, the location for us was perfect with the beach only a few minutes walk away. The food was excellent as was the dining area. We will definitely be using this hotel when in the area again.
The food, both for dinner and breakfast was very good and great value, the staff were friendly and approachable and efficient dealing with all enquiries. I would recommend this hotel and restaurant and would happily stay here again.
The hotel is conviently placed for exploring Ellon, very friendly staff and the food was good. Room was a bit on the small side and the bathroom was cramped but apart from that had a good stay and would definitely go back.
This property truly provides superior lodging. I stayed in several nice hotels in Scotland on this trip, and The New Inn stood out as the best. The common areas and room were spotless. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The only thing I didn't look at was that there was no lift but wasn't a problem as the staff were really helpful. The food was excellent would recommend this hotel 🏨 👌 xx
Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. Fantastic dinner. Great breakfast. The hotel was a lot more modern than I expected. Rooms were nice with great bathrooms
Good location, outside Aberdeen and very close to the beach with dozens and dozens of seals. Very friendly staff, good food and service and excellent value.
Lovely clean comfortable property.
Good location in Ellon.
Hot tub was also a nice bonus.
Pint of milk on arrival was a nice touch.
We enjoyed our stay.
Very nice hotel, great staff and clean comfortable room. Breakfast was perfect, good quality bacon and sausage, very tasty with plenty toast and coffee
