The hotel was not expensive and was in a decent position in Coldstream. The room was basic but reasonably comfortable. Some of the bathroom fittings could have done with being replaced/upgraded. Don't leave the window open at night! The traffic outside is very noisy - we closed the window on our second night and it was fine! The owner and his wife were lovely and a) made us feel very welcome; and b) prepared good food - both breakfast and dinner.

A lovely greeting from Paul within 5 minutes of arrival. Lots of lovely touches. . Ie.
Bottle of wine, tea, coffee, water, bathrobes, toiletries. Paul even brought us charcoal for the bbq. It was such a tranquil place especially surrounded by wildlife. Will definitely go again .
