The quiet peaceful location with views of rolling countryside from the lounge to the rear was perfect for our need to attend a wedding nearby. The Sycamore Pub opposite the accommodation was welcoming and does great food. The size of the accommodation is exceptional and the standard is really good with all of the facilities required to make our stay successful. The hosts Mel and Keith are friendly welcoming and went out of their way and well beyond to provide advice and support during our stay. (Many thanks to them)

Excellent lunch & breakfast, very comfortable light & airy bedroom, and great staff. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment that we arrived, with every staff member being cheerful and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to return in the future.

Llantwit Major is a small town with a good mixture of shops and other facilities. There are a number of restaurants and pubs. Food on Sunday evenings was take-away only in September.
The town is a mixture of old and new buildings.
The picturesque coast and beach is a 10 minute drive away.

We really, really enjoyed our 1 night stay at The Great House with Paula as our very welcoming host. The whole property is charming and beautifully styled throughout and has a lovely warm, authentic feel. The Great House was immaculately clean and cosy and was even better in reality than the beautiful photos suggested.
We had a private bathroom just a short walk along the corridor which was warm and modern with all the facilities you expect including a great shower.
Breakfast was superb with English breakfast, cereal, toast and yoghurt and berries. Paula even made us a fantastic hot chocolate as we’re both not coffee or tea drinkers.
Wish we had more time to explore the garden and surrounding area more but we will definitely be back to enjoy the lovely welcome and perfect room.
We called back on our way back to collect an item we had left behind and we got the chance to share our happy news with Paula of our engagement and she very kindly gifted us a bottle of Prosecco which was very sweet.
Don’t hesitate to book a stay at The Great House in Llantwit Major. You won’t be disappointed.

Character town but need care over road humps quite leathal so go slow. Couple of great pubs and more original . Had full on meal in The Swan and reasonably priced. Main course more than enough so very reluctantly couldn’t indulge in the sweet. Will be revisiting that is for sure and explore town and walks nearby. Not place if all facilities for young families needed.

Fantastic beach. Perfect for crabbing. Tide comes in early pm so go early if you want to swim in the sea.
Make sure to take cash as cafe doesn't take card. The food there is lovely and the cakes are yummy.

Llantwit is a small town with an abundance of watering and dining options that will suit all tastes. A couple of well equipped supermarkets, chemist, trains to Cardiff. The old town is very special and a treat to wander around its narrow roads and explore its nooks and crannies. A couple of good sized free car parks near the train station. Very advisable to use these car parks whenever visiting the town as alternative parking in the narrow lanes is non existent. A couple of ATMs also on scene. Luvelly, often diserted beach, very close by.
The hotel was due to close over Xmas and reopen in the new year due to covid I believe. They honoured our booking, provided an excellent continental breakfast and the staff who were working were excellent and very friendly. The rooms were spotless and haven’t visited the area for a number of years and the beach and village were lovely places to visit. Thanks and good luck next year
Great location for what we wanted. Visiting family. Llantwit Major is a friendly village and close to the sea. The apartment was huge. The bed was very comfortable but would recommend not going to bed before the pub closes especially if there a noisy crowd.
1. Near and quiet.
2. The town of Llantwit Major is lovely. Easy access to restaurants and supermarkets.

4. The host is very nice and helpful.
5. Feel like home.
Excellent & enjoyable stay. The historic nature & ambience of the house and its location to Llantwit Major. Loved my room and the period features throughout the house. Breakfast was delicious and the host was very welcoming and helpful.
Super convenient in the heart of the town. Lovely and warm, full of character. Well equipped and furnished. A much better solution for a small group than a hotel or B&B.
Very pleasant and comfortable accommodation conveniently located for local roads and a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of the beautiful Llantwit Major village
Really nice location and facilities. It's on a working farm so plenty to see every morning and evening. Great hosts and local village pubs and restaurants.
