The hosts were very welcoming and even made sure that food was available later than the usual cut off period due to us checking in later during the day. Our room was well equipped and comfortable with luxury bedding helping create a relaxing environment and good nights sleep. The building is a beautiful Grade II listed structure, with it's history and some information about the surrounding area and hosts provided in a book left in the room for guests to read, which was interesting and different to other places stayed. The views from the breakfast dining area were great, even in the bad weather we experienced during our visit, and the breakfast was tasty! Would certainly stay again if visiting the same area in future.

The location was amazing. We had a room with the lake view which you could look over from the bedroom and bathroom, we were lucky to see an amazing sunset that night.
Check in and out and effortless. We were greeted by and amazing woman who was on the desk for our whole stay. Super friendly, attentive.
Food was amazing and catered effortlessly for vegan needs.
Hotel is dog friendly and when I say dog friendly I mean they actually had doggy biscuits in the room for the dogs and left a note for them too.

Breakfast excellent.
Good bar. Reasonable selection of beers.
Dinner was good. Not as good as breakfast, but service good all round.
Great location for Cader Idris
Tiny village but good location. Does have pub, petrol station, corner shop, bus stop and steam train stop. Car recommended. Not as close to Lake Bala as we thought. Nothing (apart from village amenities) is walking distance

Very quiet little village, there is one pub that had lovely welcoming staff and a nice outdoor seating area with a great view. Not a lot going on but there’s a train into nearby Bala where there are a few more places to eat and drink and several shops. Plenty of walking routes, ideal for a quiet countryside getaway. There’s plenty of water sports options on Lake Bala with a great water sports centre and cafe. We walked round the lake and into Bala it’s a great walk but probably not suitable for young children as it’s a good 6 miles and some of it is on a road.
