This lovely hotel is located in an atmospherically ramshackle group of ancient buildings in the shadow of Carnarvon Castle. It is so close to the city walls that we, and the satnav, became somewhat confused in the final hundred metres. The welcome could not have been warmer and the room was comfortable. We ate in the bar where the menu was fairly typical pub food served by friendly staff, who may need a little more familiarity with the drinks stocked. When we got home we found we had left a bag of chargers and cables in the room. The person we spoke to (Amanda?) could not have been kinder or more helpful and organised them to be posted back to us the next day. This was service beyond any expectation and highly commendable.

The room was clean, modern, en-suite and quiet. The mattresses were basic, but comfortable enough. We booked this accommodation the day before climbing Mt. Snowdon, a 30 minute drive away. We were so impressed with the room we immediately booked a second night. Breakfast was self-service which we prefer, including cereals, fruit juice, 'full English', tea, coffee and toast - all for £70.
