Breakfast and dinner very good pub food, well cooked and nicely presented.
Bedroom quite small with several areas with low sloping ceilings, it would have been worth upgrading, not going for the basic double.

The room was spacious and the swimming pool a decent size too. You could actually swim properly. Food was good and bar serves a good selection until 10pm. The rooms and interior have been recently painted which gives the place a fresh and clean look.

Breakfast was fine. The host was very friendly and helpful, and the location is very peaceful. We could sit on the terrace with a lovely view and watch the sheep. The hosts are farming sustainably which is great.

Interesting place, not a hotel as such- the accommodation is more of a side-line to the owners' other businesses. (The set-up is a shop, art gallery, café, music and wedding venue.)
Warmly welcomed, the courtyard room was spacious and comfortable. And quiet.

The lack of maintenance generally, broken radiator covers, equipment not working and not repaired/replaced when reported, threadbare carpet, bathroom fans and towel rail, mould and dirt in the nonventilated bathroòm, damaged wallpaper, hole in the walk, standard of redecoration very poor and long overdue. Breakfast adequate but the duty chef, 21/10/23. Needs to be retrained, the standard of the food at dinner on 20th was not good with one of our party having to wait ages for his meal. At the moment October 2023 this hotel cannot be regarded as adequate as its 4 star listing and after spending over£400 for a 2 night stay with dinner 1 night I feel let down especially as it was a treat for my wife's birthday. I have lodged a complaint, time will tell!

Amazing staff.. amazing rooms.. amazing building. Great value for money on the room drinks a but pricey but other than that and our rooms bathroom couldve used a little updating I cannot fault this place.. I'm as honest as I can be and we left today and already we want to arrange another visit. It's a delight to stay there and feels very homely and relaxing.. anyone looking for a quiet stay and good hearty food and a lovely lovely room for a very reasonable price I highly recommend this place to anyone.. I'm gonna look to go back in couple months as is my birthday of feb and a big one. They also have function room privately and a separate bar area.. it can cater for alot of things albeit a small establishment its excellent. What more can I say. You will not be disappointed
Best wishes to ben and staff

This building needs a total refurb inside and out.
This building needs a total refurb inside and out. The outside areas were festooned with empty glasses, soft drinks bottles and cigarette butts. The inside was not clean. The reception area displays cabinets were untidy and the glass appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. The breakfast room floor had not been swept as there was a broken plate under a table for two days !! My "superior" room was inferior totally unclean and uninviting. I would not recommend this hotel to any decent person. It needs to be closed down until such time that it is fit for purpose.
Beautiful location and a real treasure buried in surrounding Woodland. The Hotel is well presented and has managed to take a period style building and to symapthetically modernise internally but managed to keep a lot of the historical features and a lovely atmosphere inside. Bar area is very relaxing and the evening meal was enjoyable and good choice to select from. In the morning breakfast was excellent and all in all a very comfortable stay. Rooms are well appointed and also very comfortable
It's the second time my husband and I say in that hotel.
I love the idea that it is not a big place, so it feels more familiar if you know what I mean.
Staff is very friendly, food is delicious. The breakfast buffet was very fresh and you can see the effort they put on that.
Shower was nice with good pressure.
Bed was comfortable.
Location is very good for us. Tha's why we always choose them when we go to that part of the country.
Lovely clean room, comfortable bed, with a fan which was useful given the hot weather at the time. Desk was useful as I was on a work trip, but lighting could have been better. Free parking and a lovely pub serving meals was an added bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful. I ate breakfast out on the patio, in the garden at the back of the property, which made a lovely start to the day.
Great location for Glyndebourne. Good parking. Easy to find. Beautiful old pub. We had a great meal Friday night in the Hotel. Breakfast was busy. Very nice continental style buffet, but cooked breakfast was delicious. We had a lovely time and will return.
So many good points. Asked for a ground floor room and this was provided. Plenty of parking space. Outside seating space was really good if it had stopped raining! The staff was brilliant, a credit to the Chequers Inn.
Only stayed for one night to attend a function locally.
Nice hotel in a small village. Typical pub chain but nothing wrong with that.
Dinner was really nice as was breakfast. Room was comfortable and bed was soft.
