The room was extremely clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Location was ideal for the seafront and town centre. Owner very friendly and checked in on us to see if everything was ok.

I wondered why there was a table and chairs in the bay window in the suite that we’d booked.
Breakfast next morning resolved the question.
A basket with your breakfast in it.
Unique!
Evening meal. I love Whitebait and these are the best ever.
The Mussels are to die for.

Minehead town centre does have it's 'characters' most of whom frequent the Wetherspoons for obvious reasons. The quay and seafront was lovely in the evening sunshine and we found a fabulous pub called the 'Kildare Lodge Hotel'. Not at all what you would expect, a beautiful 'Arts and Crafts' building with amazing interior plus the bonus of having 3 real ales on tap (they are in the 2024 Good Beer Guide). A visit to Dunster Castle is a must plus a trip on the West Somerset Railway and a walk on Exmoor! Minehead is a good base for all these activities!

Minehead is a very traditional sort of seaside resort, which is perfect if that's what you are looking for. Based mostly around the huge Butlins site and the West Somerset Railway, there's not a great deal else to do, though the surrounding countryside is pretty special. Facilities in town are what you'd expect - some takeaways, simple restaurants, touristy type shops, etc, but it's not somewhere for hard-core shoppers.

We loved the laid back atmosphere.
We loved the laid back atmosphere. The high street was busy with a diverse variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. The Victorian town is beautiful. Lots of lovely architecture, walks and a beautiful park. Also a nice beach which was a bonus. We would recommend you investigate all the little side streets for hidden gems. Also very dog friendly.

Minehead is a good beach resort and a central starting point for exploring Somerset and particularly Exmoor as a path starts a short walk from the Hotel.
The West Somerset steam railway is the longest standard gauge heritage line at 21 miles taking a full hour each way through pretty well kept stations and is only a short walk along the front the hotel.

Minehead is a thriving seaside town with many individual and chain shops, eateries, coffee bars, a park and places of worship and of course the beach! It is an easy town to walk around, especially if you have a walking problem. The traffic during our stay was light fr the time of year and parking in the town was easy. It is also a very friendly place to visit.
First of all the breakfast was amazing, the place is very clean ,the room was very comfortable and clean ,the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is perfect the railway station is opposite, ansnd so is the bus stop and the beach is straight in front ,and plenty of car parking if you can't get into the hotel car park you can use the big car park next too it,and if you walk up the road a bit you come into town everything perfect top marks for the beach hotel.
It was my first visit to Minehead and I would have stayed longer if I'd known how nice it is, despite not being easy to get to if you don't drive. Sunfield B&B is on a street that runs parallel to the main shopping street and just a minute's walk from the front. The place is clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts more than adequate. My room was large and had en suite. Minehead is a lovely place for a visit and I'd recommend both it and Sunfield.
This is a lovely clean, and spacious apartment that is a credit to the owners. We had the ground floor flat which is a step free 2 minute walk to the seafront. There is access to a pretty communal outdoor courtyard. The location is in a quiet street only a few hundred yards to Minehead town centre where there are many bars, restaurants, and takeaways. On the seafront is the start/finish marker for the south west coastal path, 600 miles or so to Poole.
Awfully staff disgustingly filthy rooms the worse breakfast I've ever had served stone cold room various sharp staples on ripped chair cut my arm when told staff they laughed an said they send maitenince didn't happen. No room cleaning or fresh towels tea coffee etc whole time. Rude staff that are not hospitable. Sauna covered in dirt so was pool area jacuzzi broken with a yellow puddle in it absolutely nasty hotel
Everything about Steps Farmhouse was perfect. The hosts were extremely welcoming, fun to be with and helpful. The range and quality of the breakfast food were truly exceptional, and the facilities such as the breakfast room, bedroom, garden and garden bar with help-yourself drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were delightful. The location was perfect for the Somerset coast, Dunster, Exmoor, Porlock, etc.
Such a beautiful clean, quiet and well presented hotel. Came here with my husband and dog for a short break. Beautiful room with period furniture, windows and curtains and huge modern bathroom. Perfect for a relaxing break a short mile walk along tree lined roads with old traditional houses and gardens to Minehead centre. Could not recommend this hotel and the welcoming staff more.
The building was fascinating and our room wonderfully spacious. Breakfast was good, and we ate there two evenings and really enjoyed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pair of Great Dane 'guard' dogs were a real joy. We were there to visit the West Somerset Railway and it was a real bonus having a station a short drive from the hotel.
A good sized property, with well proportioned rooms. Reall nicely maintained and clean. Well-equipped kitchen and nicely set out bedrooms. Great ot have a good sized dining table, as well as a separate comfy living room. Nicely convenient location for the centre of town and the beach.
The hotel was in the centre of town. It was well placed for all of Mineheads attractions. The bus stop and taxi rank were near to the hotel. Shops, cafes pubs and restaurants are nearby. Weatherspoons itself is a pub offering good food and beers at reasonable prices.
A well run hotel and pub.
Within walking distance of Exmoor tops and Dunkery Beacon.
Staff friendly and food excellent.
Covid measures excellent
Nice to know you can have a good evening meal rather than be looking around or going into Minehead
We found ourselves stranded in Minehead and was fortunate that this property was available. The host was very considerate, making sure we had fresh milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on our arrival. He was friendly and easy to talk to. Thank you.
Clean, friendly and helpful owners. Perfectly located for where I needed to be.... If you have an issue regarding a breakfast there are plenty of wonderful places a short walk or car ride in Minehead centre..
This is a gem of a hotel located in wonderfully peaceful surroundings and full of fascinating history. The staff are great and welcoming and the volcanic hot rock chateaubriand was exceptional.
The hotel is well located on the main street close to the beach, preserved railway station and bus stops. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Good sized rooms, very clean.
