The room was great and evening meal was excellent. We had an early start before breakfast and we were provided with cereals and cold milk.

Went into breakfast at 7:30am, there was no one in the queue.
I made myself a tea and saw some colleagues having breakfast, so I signalled that I would join them.
There was no milk, so I asked the lady who arrived to fill up the fruit juices, she said that she would fetch some in a minute. Whilst she was gone, I thought I would put a piece of toast on, to be grilling whilst I waited, and so that it would be ready once I had served myself some bacon and eggs. There was no brown bread available, so when the lady finally finished topping up the juices and returned with the milk, I asked her for some brown bread. Again I was left standing and waiting whilst my tea went cold.
She finally came back but when I went to get breakfast there were approximately 30 people in the queue waiting for cooked food.
Not good.
Also the café area ran out of sandwiches on 2 out of 3 days and again a very long queue with a very long wait whilst customers are served. All I wanted each day was a sandwich and a cold drink, but there was a long wait whilst customers were being served with coffees, paninis and baked potatoes, which all take a long time.
I would have liked to spend my lunch hour talking with colleagues in the sun, not waiting in a queue.
Not good again.

Easy to find, remote and quiet. There is no fussing around to check in and the air on is better than 5* hotels I’ve stayed in which I appreciate as I suffer with asthma

Staff were helpful and friendly, especially the chef who does breakfast. Food was of a high standard and the bar and restaurant area was spacious and vibrant. Room was very comfortable and modern, very fresh and airy. Only downside was the cupboard door kept swinging open in the bedroom but other than have nothing to fault at all. Wouldn't hesitate to book again if working locally.

Wonderful with a remarkable church right in the centre.
Wonderful with a remarkable church right in the centre. There seems to be a lively student community but local bars are serviced by door staff who appear to limit rowdiness. The Railway Tavern was a real gem being easy walking distance from the hotel and past the church. This bar serves a marvellous range of snacks all day, has the most incredible pork pies I have ever tasted. One visit they 12 different real ales on tap as well as the usual lagers and ciders. A very well run establishment.

I spent 3 nights in Newport, I didn't explore the town in great detail to be fair, I used it as a base to visit Mach Loop which is an area in mid Wales for low flying fighter jet training, and I went to a couple of evening football matches, one at Shrewsbury, and the other a Crewe. What I experienced in Newport was pleasant enough, a variety of eating establishments, as well as the normal High Street shops, etc. Newport is an old Market Town idea for a base to visit the County of Shropshire, and further afield if you wish.

Your district council appears to care about it's visitors to the town. Encouraging returns with plenty of free, short & long stay parking. Lots of ample & well cared for floral displays for summer. Plenty of shopping & good places to eat.
Beautiful, rural location, which was very quiet and peaceful. The property was clean, airy and well equipped. Small outside area overlooking field with chickens and Monty the horse!
Lovely local walks at nature reserve and the Newport to Stafford Greenway Rail Trail.

This was a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The cleaning ladies were very nice. The food and drink were very good . The bar and dining areas were very pleasant and our room and shower were excellent.
Room was excellent. Lovely four poster bed in our room. Breakfast was not expected as we got up late but offered nevertheless. Food was excellent and service was efficient, Clearly a well run hotel.
Beautiful, tranquil location, down narrow country lanes, yet close to Newport. Large, comfortable, well equipped house, tastefully decorated. Owners' very friendly spaniel. Own hot tub.
Great location in centre of Newport. Great ambience; very friendly staff. Room was large and comfortable. The personal touches in the room gave it a homely feeling.
Cosy clean room, good hot shower, heated towel rail to keep towels dry for next use.
Room small but perfect for our needs. Good location for visiting Newport.
