We arrived late and left early. Didn’t have time to look around the town. We chose Newtownards for its location from where we would be visiting local attractions the next day and the hotel as the best of a small choice.

Newtownards, while not obviously a beautiful town, has interesting and historic elements. Its position near Belfast, lovely Strangford Lough and magnificent National Trust property Mountstewart is a bonus. We enjoyed drinks and food in the Parlour (formerly known as the Old Cross). The hotel is located just opposite a shopping centre and Asda, so it was very convenient to arrive and make a bit of shopping. Look forward to staying there for a long weekend soon.
