Breakfast was fine. Although I only had cereal & toast as it was an either or with the hot breakfast and not both which is very limiting and not great value.

Lovely hotel in an *amazing* location overlooking the Solway. The Powfoot Hotel is charming and remote and overlooks both stunning tidelands (and Cumbria in the distance) and a lovely golf course. It makes a great base for exploring this under-visited piece of Scotland. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, and the staff were very helpful. The lounge and balcony on the 1st floor (2nd floor US) was deliciously peaceful and offered stunning views.
The Corner House Hotel is located in Annan, 15.4 miles from Dumfries. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site.

Annan is a lovely little town and the Cornerhouse has very welcoming and accommodating staff. Our room was bigger than expected and very clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a large bathroom, also very clean. The facilities include a cafe and bar which we didn't use as we were out most of the day, but the breakfast was lovely. No problems with parking but noting it is behind the pub next door. It has a little local cinema just around the corner which was a fun break from the normal sightseeing. I loved the architecture in the town.

I liked the location. It was near to my daughter.
I liked the bar. Though it shut very early every night.
I liked the parking timer, which was useful.

An interesting planned resort which is very different from anywhere else on the Cumberland coast. Historically interesting. The town is separated from the sea by a wide Green. Great sunsets over the Solway Firth facing Scotland.

Silloth is a lovely small coastal village. It is easy to travel the lakes from there. There are places to eat. We ate at the Golf hotel during our stay and it was an excellent meal. The cottage we booked was excellent, very quiet, comfortable and well equipped

We asked for a bath and got one but other than that the room was grotty with a miserable view of nothing. We knew some of the rooms had been decorated and thought because it was quiet, we'd be offered a good room, no!, we were shoved in the grotty one.

I could have stayed longer but we had limited time. Favorite places were the promenade on which we were able to take elderly relative, much to her enjoyment, also for my wife and me to walk on, and me to run along; the main street with square sets and colorful shop fronts; chatting with people fishing near the harbor. We sense that there is a great community spirit. Learnt that there is an excellent golf course, but the town is not all about recreation - there is biscuit factory, specialized concrete factory and fibre plant

Recommend if you’re looking for a picturesque and quiet location on the edge of the Lake District
Don’t be misled by the use of the word “guest house” to describe the Green View in Silloth. The excellent hosts (Graeme and Archie), facilities, cleanliness, location, restaurant food, room size, value for money and the overall presentation of this establishment far exceed any comparable Hotel. The next time I am in the North of England for business or pleasure I would certainly be willing to drive an hour out of my way to again experience such high standards. Well done to the owners/hosts, you have the whole package spot on.
Proper old school guesthouse that you rarely find anymore - fabulously decorated, G&Ts in the lounge, in-house restaurant with tasty home cooked food. Host was charming and very knowledgeable about the local history and area. Bedrooms are comfortable and have everything you need. Silloth is a cute place and definitely worth a visit, even if it's long past its heyday.
The location is ideal for us, a short walk into Silloth, which is a place we like. Also places like, Keswick, Cockermouth, Workington are easy to get to from the site. The apartment had a nice new shower, and central heating, which was available to use day and night.
Hotel is in a lovely location, being just across the green from a lovely pagoda and view of the sea. Staff are very friendly, and happy to provide directions to public transport - and even a USB charger after I'd lost mine! Breakfast options were good.
Paid for room at front with sea view. Room was very nice. Spacious and well equipped. Food was average I would say but staff were very helpful and friendly. It was our first trip to Silloth and it’s very pretty in parts.
View from window of golf links appreciated. Rather heavy traffic during day. Very close to helpful pub. Parking at first awkward, then easier. Walking distance to Silloth. Well equipped kitchen
The location was ideal for us as we were visiting a relative in the Silloth Care Home.
The kitchen was new and very well designed for a small galley kitchen.
