The Roost is unmanned but the staff contacted us when we rang the doorbell and gave us the access codes. There is a Tesco nearby where we got food for breakfast and ate in our room.

I liked the quietness and cosiness of the place. Great TV and location, not very far from the centre of Exeter. I would stay here again if I had the chance.
A lovely, cosy stay. It was a flying visit as I was travelling alone for work but really appreciated how friendly and accommodating the kind staff were on my arrival. Fish and chips for dinner was great! The room was small and cosy, perfect for a solo traveller. Facilities were good and everything was clean. Bed was very comfy and surroundings were lovely. Had a tasty breakfast the next morning, too. Thanks for a great stay!

Silverton is a quiet village situated around 10 miles...
Silverton is a quiet village situated around 10 miles outside of Exeter. It has a small shop, a couple of pubs & lots of older housing, many buildings with thatched roofs. It also has a reasonable bus service on a route between Exeter & Tiverton, that allowed me to have a car-free day on my break. The peace & quiet of the rural location was much appreciated!
Wow! What a lovely place. Very friendly welcome when we arrived by the young lady that greeted and showed us to our lovely clean, fresh room. Breakfast order was taken ready for the next day. The owner was also very friendly and accomadating.
Unfortunately we was to late for food ( pur fault) by the the time we arrived. However, he was more than happy for us to eat our sandwiches from the local spar. 🤣 thoroughly recommend this super pub/hotel for weekend base or a stop over as we have.thank you.
Oh, by the way breakfast superb
We have stayed at the Silverton Inn before. The fact that we returned shows that we liked it, and it was at least as good this time, if not better. The rooms are comfortable, very well decorated and equipped. Everything worked, which is more than can be said for the much more well-known hotel we had stayed at the night before. The staff were all lovely, and the food and beer were excellent. We shall certainly return if we need to stay in that area again.
Silverton is off the beaten track, but if you like that kind of thing the location is great. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and all the basics needed for an overnight stay are available on site. The general atmosphere at the pub is nice too: it's a proper 'village local' of the kind that's now increasingly rare.
Breakfast brilliant, lovely calming environment before going off to work.
Bedroom cozy liken to 4
5 star hotel based on the very good quality bedcovers and furnishing, has homely touch, with care, makes you look forward returning after a long day at work.
Great place, great hosts, super friendly, would highly recommend. Only stayed one night, booked for my husband who was travelling alone and he was super pleased with The Silverton Inn.
Silverton is a lovely little village in Devon, I have my Uncle living there and he does not have much space for guests so staying at the Inn is a good alternative.
