One of my favourite places to stay, makes a pleasant change to see the actual owner who adds the personal touch to your stay. Attention to detail is what makes you return.

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate.
Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.

We could only stay for one night, so didn't have the chance to experience much really. Climbed Tinto Hill - a lovely walk with great views and a super little tea shop near the car park.
Had a fantastic evening meal at Barony Restaurant in nearby Biggar - would recommend this very strongly!
Lovely hotel in the beautiful Southern Uplands of Scotland. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, and the hotel is lovely with stunning original features. Even though there was renovation works going on, we didn't see or hear any of it. The renovated functions rooms are beautiful and would be amazing to use for a wedding or similar function. Brilliant place to relax and unwind. Top tip - across the road is a gardening nursery with an amazing collection of rare peacocks which we stumbled upon on a stroll around the local area.
Nicola, our Receptionist, is both welcoming & efficient.
A stunning setting with a dedication to provide a pristine environment. Good Parking. Large bedroom with en-suite shower - bathroom in excellent condition & all in working order.
The Breakfast & Evening meal served in a large dinning room overlooking the well tendend gardens.
The Lounge area looked so inviting, however, too tired to enjoy on this occasion - will definitely rebook this hotel.
The surrounding environment of this hotel is very beautiful, the hotel decoration is very distinctive, the staff is very warm, the breakfast is rich, our family are very happy, looking forward to the next time.
Both our rooms were beautifully decorated and clean. Staff friendly and professional.
Great vegetarian and vegan menu.
Quiet and lovely gardens. An excellent hotel, and great value.
The hotel is a long historical one, rich of culture and style but was also recently renovated. This means a great combination of vibe, culture and comfort!
Food is really great.
this property was like a bomb site could not stay there and demanded our money back and booked into another hotel half the price and would give it five stars if we couldxx
Location is great, very close to Tinto hill. Room is very clean, breakfast amazing. Staffs are very nice, and helpful. Will come back in summer again. 10/10 hotel
Breakfast was brilliant. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful! Immaculate hotel. I’ll definitely stay at Tinto again. And recommend it to my friends and family.
