We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.Walton - 8.0Scored 8.0
We could only stay for one night, so didn't have the chance...
We could only stay for one night, so didn't have the chance to experience much really. Climbed Tinto Hill - a lovely walk with great views and a super little tea shop near the car park. Had a fantastic evening meal at Barony Restaurant in nearby Biggar - would recommend this very strongly!

Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, and the hotel is lovely with stunning original features. Even though there was renovation works going on, we didn't see or hear any of it. The renovated functions rooms are beautiful and would be amazing to use for a wedding or similar function. Brilliant place to relax and unwind. Top tip - across the road is a gardening nursery with an amazing collection of rare peacocks which we stumbled upon on a stroll around the local area.
