The full English Breakfast had delicious variety. Maids Head, reputedly England's oldest hotel is situated in Tombland in the centre of historic old Norwich. Kett's rebellion ended up with negotiations in the half timbered 1500s house, (owned by Augustus Steward) kitty corner to the hotel. A 2nd hand bookshop, optician and pubs are nearby. Staff were always helpful. The hotel had complementary half hour rides in old Bentleys around town. My room had a view over charming rooftops. A variety of dinner choices were delicious. The bed was comfortable. The room had interesting decor & charging USB ports on lamps. Plenty of storage space. The shower was hot. There are numerous nooks & seating to read or enjoy a drink. The cathedral is just around the corner. It has a good cafe upstairs. A concert was held while I was there.

Stayed here on 5 occasions this was a really disappointing stay.
Room 7 basically an outbuilding garage with open doors so everyone can see in. People next to my room all night so was noisy and people drunk.
Bathroom dirty. No one at reception to talk to about the room so just checked out and left

We stayed here as it was close to Great Yarmouth at a reasonable price. We drove into Norwich to go for food a few times and weren't disappointed. Great Yarmouth is about a 30minute drive which was great. Thorpe Saint Andrew was more of a stop rather than a place we wanted to visit.
