The room was very basic, but we didn't expect too much for the price. The extremely friendly and gracious staff, and delicious breakfast, made up for the somewhat cramped and old fashioned facilities.

Hotel was very conveniently located in the village of Ancient Olympia; we could easily walk to the ancient site, museums, and restaurants/cafes within minutes. We were also able to park on the street next to the hotel. The hotel had a "homey" feeling. There was a nice spread for breakfast, and the hotel staff made some recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Nice breakfast area. Room had a balcony and a view of the church square.
Hotel Ilis is located at the entrance of the town of Ancient Olympia, approximately 656 feet from the center. The museum and the ancient stadium are 1.9 mi away.

I didn’t realise just how important Olympia was, the first Olympic Games happened here, the ancient state of Greece was inaugurated here, some of the greatest sculpture ever made reside here. All set amongst the most beautiful landscape.

Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Considering its a small town it had all you could need.
The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well.
The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through.
I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands.
Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit.
It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum.
Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.
This is the perfect place if you are staying for a night or two to visit the Olympia archeological site and museum. The room was small and relatively basic but comfortable and perfect for our one night stay. There is a cold breakfast spread in the morning that you can help yourself to. The hotel is a short walk to the main strip of restaurants and the museum/archeological site. What really made this place awesome though was the owner- he was extremely kind and helpful, and gave us amazing tips for the rest of our driving trip.
The staff were super friendly. The restaurant was great and extremely generous with complimentary dishes--some bruschetta as a starter and a fruit salad for dessert. The view from the restaurant was incredible. Next time we are in Greece we would love to go back and stay for a few days at Hotel Europa Olympia to relax by the pool and enjoy the good food and terrific accommodations.
This is a family own business and the couple/owners are very nice and helpful. The location is great since Olympia is a small town. Literally the bus stop is less than a minute from the hotel door, and the archaeological site only 7 minutes. The facility is old but I think it's enough since everything works properly. I've been in many not-expensive hotels and this is a great deal.
Lovely owners - very friendly and helpful. Older style family-owned accommodation in the middle of town with a very comfortable bed and spacious balcony. A short/easy walk to the Olympia archaeological site. We also had access to a nearby hotel with a swimming pool, which was a bonus. Good breakfast included. Great value and a recommended place to stay in Olympia.
Great place to visit Olympia ! very modern room and bathroom, air conditionning and other commodities perfect. Very nice people to welcome us, and prepare a very good breakfast. Free parking spot available and near to the touristic sites (easy to go walking from there).
I recommend if you want to enjoy a nice stay in Olympia !
Baccus is located in a beautiful spot near Olympia overlooking a valley with olive trees. Our room had a balcony with a great view of the valley. The pool was very nice and refreshing after a hot day touring the archeological site. The room was comfortable and of a good size. The food for dinner and breakfast was great!
Well priced hotel that included breakfast. We were able to walk to the ruins. We were also able to park our car
behind and leave it while we visited Olympia.
The man at desk was helpful about orienting us and also made a good dinner recommendation which we liked. Decor is functional and basic.
Wonderful hotel! The staff was so kind and the location was perfect for Olympia. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful in guiding us on where to go -- the map was especially helpful! We'll definitely be staying here again!
The location is ideal for visiting the archaeological sites. And I like the charm of the hotel, which was probably built in the seventies. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Olympia.
Also, the staff were all very kind and friendly.
Ideal location - a 5 minute walk from the town and 15 mins from the museums.
En-suite bathroom and balcony was a big plus.
Pool access nearby - although I didn’t visit.
The staff were friendly and hospitable.
Location is excellent. The owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, gave us an excellent lecture on Greek history and Olympian history, told us how to get around, etc. This was all extra and nice.
Late check in was possible without any problems. The room was very clean and nicely furnitured. The breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. The location close to the old Olympia side is great.
Great location, easy to walk to the archeological sites and museum, nice taverns nearby, one minute away from shops, rich breakfast, very nice owners, we liked it here.
