The location is fabulous the hotel is clean and the surroundings mostly well kept apart from the rusty shipping containers and pile of old rafia umbrellas and odd bits of building materials

great views, extremely clean, lovely man who greeted us and showed us around the area, amazing restaurants - our favourite was Glykeria within short walking distance.
Elafonisi is the most overrated beach in Crete.
Super crowded. The sand is not pink. It's a normal sand. The beach resorts are expensive, usually they are full and the chairs are attached. On top of that, you need to walk 20 minutes to reach the sea.

Breathtaking natural lagoon which everyone is coming to enjoy. Get here before the buses arrive at 10 am or come after 4pm when buses leave otherwise I think it is too crowded. Consider staying overnight at Lafo Rooms.

Elafonisi Beach, with its unique pink sand, is undeniably stunning. However, during the day it can become extremely crowded, making it challenging to find sunbeds. Nevertheless, as the day transitions into evening, the beach becomes quiet, serene, and free from crowds, allowing you to fully appreciate its true beauty, especially during the magical moments just before sunset.

What a ZOO!!!
What a ZOO!!! It’s mid October and the place is still super crowded. Cannot even begin to imagine the crowds in July or August.
Crowds aside… it is an amazing place… beautiful, clear water.. great for young families. One can find a bit of privacy across the water on the spot.

A truly beautiful beach, the nicest I have visited in Crete...
A truly beautiful beach, the nicest I have visited in Crete so far. It is also a very valuable and protected natural site. The beach offers a very varied environment. There is classic seating on the shore under umbrellas and bars. Towards the sea you can enjoy the shallow beach and the sea waves. On the other side there is a quiet shallow lagoon with several islets and a sand spit connecting the coast with the island of Elafonisi. The lagoon is just a paddle away. If you go further, the other side of the island is again washed by the sea and there is also quite a nice snorkeling environment. Because of the size and ruggedness of the place, you can easily find a space for yourself. But there are a lot of people. There is little shade on the spot, so the more experienced ones will occupy the better spots first thing in the morning. It's good to have something to protect you from the sun. You have to go back to the beginning for drinks and toilets, so count on that. Plenty of space to park on site, just the last stretch is not a groomed road so watch your tyres.
It was a very nice apartment - although rather small with no real kitchenette, it was extremely clean, quite modern, with good shower, good beds. The small place was designed very efficiently. The apartment is close to Elafonisi beach and to a real natural treasure - a small bay that looks like almost a lake. It is also very close to a great monastery. The cleaning lady was the most hospitable and told us about everything we could do and see.
This was our fourth stay at Nireides Villas, we really love staying here. The villas are lovely, with a large living area downstairs and 2 double bedrooms upstairs. There are also 2 bathrooms, and the place is spotlessly clean. The communal pool is a highlight, being large and deep enough to properly swim in and there are 3 tavernas and 2 supermarkets within walking distance, Elafonisi beach is 5 minutes drive.
- Superb hospitality by Maria and Nikos, you cannot ask for more
- Room is perfect, with an amazing view and nice bathroom
- The restaurant and breakfast was one of the best we had overall in our trip in Crete. Very recommended.
- Location is perfect for its views, but also as good base location to explore the top south beaches
- Price is on the high end, but you get what you pay for - so worthy in our opinion.
Location near the beach (300m), you can go there by foot.
The room was big ( 40 m²), with all that was needed, even a small kitchen with oven and microwave oven.
The room had beeen restaured not a long time ago, very clean.
The view from the parking covers all the Elafonisi Beach which is beautiful
Some restaurants nearby, one on the location, others at about 2 kms , a car is a plus
Excellent location with an amazing view to Elafonisi Beach. Beach was right around the corner. The staff were nice and friendly. The facilities are new - pool, our room was great. We loved our stay there.
The only thing that wasn't clear is where the parking is because you have to pass the paid parking and go through the barrier and then to the left.
The Apartment was very clean, spacious and modern. The host welcomed us with a homemade dessert and nice amenities inside the room. The attention to detail and the genuine hospitality was exceptional. There is not much around in this area but we felt that the location was perfect close to Elafonisi beach. Thank you for a great stay.
We absolutely loved this place! The bed was so comfy we didnt want to leave it, but Elafonisi beach was so close, that going there was easy and super fast. Taverns serwing very good food are just 2 minutes on foot from Smaroula.
The owner was so nice and helpful, we’re very glad we choose that hotel to stay.
Nice place, with well-equipped, clean and comfortable rooms. Quite calm, with very good location to reach Elafonisi beach. Nice tavernas around just a few minutes away by walking. The woman who met us was very kind and welcoming, and same goes for the host who we communicated with via Booking.
This nice family hotel is in 10 minutes on foot from the famous Elafonisi beach, but the pros are that the hotel is located on the hill that makes the guests see all the beauty of Elafonisi, especially during the sunset.
There is a nice restaurant with very delicious Cretan cuisine.
Beautiful, clean rooms with great views! Very short, easy drive to Elofinisi. The rooms were full of great design touches and the bathroom was the nicest we'd encountered in our whole 14 days in Crete. We only stayed one night, but definitely would have enjoyed more.
Stelios is very kind, shows a lot of understanding for us. The room is nice, bathroom is new. The location is simply the best to visit Elafonisi and be on the beach before others come. Market is near and parking was free.
Perfect size and location. Very kind, considerate, and helpful owner. On site with a small shop with anything you might need for a day at the Beach and more, a few restaurants nearby, more within a 5 minute drive.
One of the nearest hotels to Elafonisi beach.
There is a mini market on the corner.
The manager can give you good suggestion about where to dine (you need a car).
