Right on the central square of Portaria with its shading plane trees, lies the hotel and restaurant Kritsa. It offers romantic rooms, a rich traditional breakfast.

Hotel Kritsa and the gastronomy restaurant are a fantastic experience. First of all you have the lovely and wonderful staff. They are so friendly!
They bring your suitcases to your room and they give you all the necessary information about Portaria, the shops … and everything you ask them. They are very helpful!
The outside area of the hotel is like the garden of Eden with an 800 year old tree at the center and a well next to the tree . You don’t need to buy a bottle of water. They fill a carafe with fresh spring water. Lovely! Water can taste very good.
The rooms are comfortable. Old style Pelion. I had a room with a balcony over looking the square with the old tree. Very recommendable!
And then last but not least you have the breakfast. Only for the breakfast you stay in Kritsa. It’s of an unbelievable good quality with very good quality local products and products from their own farm.
The restaurant is also a very good experience. Lovely food and a very good wine selection. The service is professional and very relaxed and friendly.
I come back.

I liked:
I liked:
The traditional house architecture that has been somehow preserved and gives a unique character to the entire village.
The streams and creeks inside and around the village.
The main square with the beautiful large platanus-sycamore trees.
The views of the Pagasitikos bay from the village.
The view of the thickly wooded forests of chestnuts and walnuts.
Portaria and Makrynitsa and Pelion in general are close to what my idea of paradise is!

It is a very small village on the top of a mountain near Volos.Ok, the view is very nice especially during night, but You need to climb the mounting by car and you need 30-40 minutes for 9 km.When you arrive there, you will find many hotels, 8-10 restaurants, 3-4 souvenir shop, one petrol station, one pharmacy and nothing else.

Portaria is a really nice place that combines traditional restaurants with friendly people and a breath taking scenery in the mountains with a panoramic view of Volos. The trail of Centaurs is a must,as well as tasting the traditional sweets of the women's co-op.

All villages from Pelion are extremely interesting and with a local air. The view is just unbelievable. A great rustic experience which a real urban, busy traveler must have. The food, the nature, the panorama, every and each place are just mind blowing. Pelion is not the tourist oriented place, but this makes it even more desirable. So, if you choose Greece and you might need some peace of soul, this is the place.

We stayed at gastronomy hotel Kritsa in front of a 1000 years old Plane tree. The hotel shares a big yard together with 2-3 other small hotels covered by huge Plane trees. It's a magnificent place .
The restaurant is fantastic. We tried different things from the menu, especially the daily menu and all of them exceeded our expectations. The staff is also great! We had a lot of conversations with them and they helped us with all our requests and they are very nice people! The rooms are a good size and have all that is required. We did not spend a lot of time inside the rooms, but the time spent there was ok. I hope to return here as soon as we can to visit more of Pelion!
Everything!
Perfect house at the best town in Pelion!
Anna and George were the perfect hosts and they were available and aware of everything we needed. We even still stay in touch!
This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The kids were super happy.
The house is warm and inviting with everything we needed and even more. The patio is big and fun to stay under the grape vines.
We hope to be back again and maybe in the winter to enjoy the snow :)
The hotel is in an excellent spot and has an amazing view over the city of Volos and the village of Makrinitsa, our room also shared the same view. We also had breakfast during our stay and we were really really satisfied with the quality, variety and taste of the options, highly recommend the visitor to try the breakfast. Lastly, all the members of staff we met were very helpful and tried to help us with everything we needed.
Everything was first rate at this inn, but what really sets it apart is the wonderful host, Katerina, and her beautiful daughter, Violeta. Probably the most welcoming host in our 21/2 months in Greece, she also was right there for us during a potentially serious medical emergency of my wife. Don’t stay anywhere else and be sure to check out her beautiful handicrafts!
Our stay was really wonderful. A picturesque building that's really a pleasure to stay in, modern facilities with everything working perfectly, kind and pleasant people running the hotel and a mouthwatering breakfast with all sorts of savory and sweet delights! Free parking spot also a bonus. Highly recommended
everything was perfect! the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the home made breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious, the location was excellent to explore the villages, the room was sparkling clean and the view from our room balcony was just stunning!
we had such a great experience! thank you!
Staff is helpfull. Relative close proximity to east pelion beaches and towns and kentaurs path. Nice view. Friendly staff.
Relativly private parking
Nise design to hall
.
Minibar filled with unnecessary stuff. would have been much better if they put a refrigerator instead.
The breakfast was really nice and fulfill the expectations for a family. The location was perfect since everything was really in the same area. The staff was great, really helpful and very professional. I definitely recommend the hotel for families.
The staff was very nice. They offered us good local sweets, and a freshly renovated room in the hotel although we booked a room at the Erofilis's Home. The hotel is placed in a good area, near the restaurants and has a nice view.
Very nice hotel close to the town with child friendly swimming pool. We had a free upgrade to a very comfortable room with terrace (and for the winter open fireplace). Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay when you are visting the north of Pelion. Very relaxing place, lovely and homemade breakfast while enjoying great views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent location in the center of Portaria, comfortable rooms, brilliant host, good breakfast, and nearby free parking. Portaria and nearby Makrinitsa are very picturesque.
This was one of our favorite experiences in Greece! Definitely want to visit again sometime to see the farm, and explore more of the villages of Mt. Pelion.
