The Old School was spacious with a dedicated living room and kitchen/dining. The washer/dryer was a nice bonus so that we could do laundry at the halfway point of our Ring Road journey. We also enjoyed the Hotel Aldan cafe/restaurant.

This town is a bit over rated in my opinion.
This town is a bit over rated in my opinion. There is almost nothing there. The setting is nice, but we stayed in a town called Siglufjordur up north is much prettier and had a lot more to offer, so I would skip this one and head up there.

This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. Breakfast options are limited, however there is a little bakery in the supermarket that has wonderful fresh baked bread and goods.

This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location...
This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory.
In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.

Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village.
Seydisfjordur was a picture perfect village. We ate at two of the restaurants and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a local hike. And being fans of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" we enjoyed seeing the filming locations in this town.

A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely.
A small town of the beaten path that is just lovely. Our only problem is that we didn't have enough time to explore the town and surrounding area. We would have added a second night if we had the chance to do it again.
This house was perfect for us. We where 4 guys on a hunting trip and we wanted to be able to come and leave as we like and also be able to cook for ourself on the barbecue and use the hot tub. All this is just perfect in Langahlíð. The distance from Seyðisfjörður is very decent and the spaces between cabins are very good.
The staff was very very helpful. The came and checked on us and switched out the gas for us on the barbecue and gave us extra tissue in no time. Very helpful and friendly.
The hostess, Kristin, was so lovely--warm and welcoming! These are the apartments that she grew up in with her family and grandparents so they are very dear to her. It was wonderful to be able to spread out after many nights in hotels. We were able to make dinner and do laundry. The bathroom and kitchen are nicely renovated. The beds were so comfy. I felt like I was staying at a friend's apartment. And Seyðisfjörður is so tranquil and charming.
The room was a bit small, but spacey enough to fit our luggage. The hygienic downside was the fixed carpet in the room, this is really not our cup of tea. The view from the room was fantastic and we had a lovely evening sitting outside on the perch in front of the hotel by the water, so 10+ for location. The bathroom was small but we managed. A bit pricey maybe for the size, but it's Iceland of course...
I have stayed in many places in Iceland already but this certainly was one of the best if not the best. Communication beforehand was easy, the guesthouse is super clean and also takes measures with regard to the current situation seriously, the owner / staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely would go back there and can totally recommend it even for a longer stay than just one night.
I was blown away by the location, the decor, the AMAZING 3 window view and deck off of my bedroom overlooking the lagoon and mountains. Fantastic bathroom, helpful and welcoming information. Stylish, clean, simple. Lots of good dining and shopping options nearby, and they provide good little tips in the lobby and in your room. Appreciated the Icelandic products in the bathroom.
Hotel Aldan is spreed in different buildings, practically half of the village. The village is beautiful, with colourful houses, a must in the trip to Iceland.
We were in the old school, very close to the church. the house was basically divided in two apartments, our was big and well equipped, two rooms, living room / kitchen and bathroom with washing machine and drier.
Great hotel directly to the rainbow street and beautiful church. Seydisfjödur byitself very quite village, maybe in March because of not all opened infrastructure not completely ideal. But must be really really beautiful from spring - autumn.
If you stay just a short time, take small suitcases, small stairs to first floor. But very romantic beautiful room!
We loved the great views on the mountains, our big and comfortable room.
The kitchen is big, perfectly equipped with all the necessary to cook good meals.
Everything has a personal touch, from the bedding to the kitchenware.
The historical building is beautiful, well kept. We had a great time at Hafaldan hostel
Ideally placed, neat, clean and tidy. Kitchen area for making tea and coffee and some cooking. Bedrooms spotlessly clean. Ok it’s not a 5 star hotel but for a guest house to explore this part of Iceland then it’s first class. I run photography workshops and will use this accommodation again in the future.
Hotel Aldan's apartments were incredible. They are spacious, clean and provide all the amenities you would need. It also helps that they are right next to town. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return when we come back to Iceland.
the fact that an old building as being put to use effectively and keeping the decor suitable to the vintage of the building. I loved my that about the old town- very quaint and no new modern hotels and eating places to spoil the effect
The apartment is very cozy and the studio had been prepared in a stylish manner. The house is near a beautiful waterfall with an hiking path nearby. Room is clean and the heater in the bathroom make it very comfortable.
I really liked how spacious and affordable the home was. The host was accommodating and made my friend and I feel really at home during our stay. Highly recommend this cute home when traveling to Seyðisfjörður Iceland
Very spacious, very clean, well-furnished and very comfortable, good bed, kitchen with table and chairs, quiet. Single detached unit, but more reasonably-priced than the hotels in town. Beautiful small town.
Very good location, excellent and very comfortable place.
The welcome chocolate from the house owner was a very nice gift . If I come back to Iceland I will definitely visit this place again.
Just rent this place if it’s available. The place is just outstanding and the town is one of the cutest towns in Iceland. We wished we could’ve spent more time in this place.
The staff was very kind and nice. There is a shared kitchen I could use, good feature. It is not like hotel, but like one room in a flat house with more than few rooms.
