We stayed for 4 nights in April and the weather was most of the time horrible, but you can imagine how beautiful this island is in summer time. The hotel is at a 5 minute walking distance to the beach, it is also only 2 bus stops to the vaporetto stops and the center. We visited the main island every day and had no trouble at all with transportation. The rooms are quite old-school but yet very comfortable and receive a good amount of sunlight. A nice continental breakfast is served for 15€, the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would choose this hotel if I get to visit Venice again.

Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.
Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.
There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.
Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year.
Lido was recommended to me by a friend who goes every year. She'd stayed in lots of areas. Great choice ! The island was quieter, cleaner, cheaper and not so busy. It was lovely to walk around, trees, flora and fauna, churches , lots of shops and restaurants. Short stroll to a beautiful beach. Amazing sunsets, with all those views. Picture perfect. We used a three day vaporetta pass to get around. We were two stops away from main part of Venice, where we got off to explore. Four stops to San Marco, quick and easy. Longer trips to Murano, which was worth a visit...free to get into the glass factory on a Wednesday and the airport was a 45 minute ride, but easily done.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The space was quaint and perfectly located away from the crazy busy hub that is Venice. It was a 5 minute walk to the laundromat, where you could have a drink nearby at a bar while you waited. Another 5 minute walk and you were at the beach. Lots of eateries, shops, bars and way less people.

Very close to the buzzing city of Venice (only minutes by Vaporetto) but away from all the noise and crowded streets. Perfect place to relax in the evening. Very nice restaurants, B&Bs and even a beach where you can sunbath and swim. We used to stay in Venice but now we always stay here.

Feels like a typical Italian village, but it's only a ten minute boat ride to piazza San Marco. It's quiet, but elegant. The bars and restaurants I tried - on the main boulevard and along the canal - were excellent.

I didn't go to the beach, I went to a ceremony in the Palazzo del cinema. Lido is a quiet place with beautiful houses and a beach. You can see the sunset from the water front and Venice which was very pretty. I heard that it's quite dead in winter time, but end of September was perfect, quiet but still lively.
Lovely hotel in stile Art Nouveau surrounded by shadowed garden. Lido island had an atmosphere of relaxed beach holiday after crowded streets of Venezia. Our room was small, on the 3rd floor, no elevator. We knew this so it was ok for us for a one night stay. The gentleman at the reception was very kind with lovely manners of old times. The breakfast was great with everything and more, we had it in the garden. Wonderful! We loved this place and could have stayed more. Definitely will come back and recommend to others too!
It was a beautiful hotel 1920’s ArtDeco period.
Lovely room plenty of room a small very practical room with great facilities.
A balcony to have your coffee & view the everyday life.
I would highly recommend the hotel.
Clean & with a court yard it was a super place to stay.
10 mins from a white sandy beach with a cafe serving fresh food.
Breakfast was not my favorite, but the staff was just so nice and helpful in responding to our questions. It is a very nice little hotel. Very close to the boat transportation. They have a cute cat on the property that loves cuddles, I love cats, don't judge, lol. Very nice stay and we would come back for sure in the future.
Absolutely gorgeous and authentic hotel in the middle of Lido, close to the beach and restaurants, outside the tourist paths. Incredibly friendly staff in the restaurant and front desk were happy to talk to all the guests and share interesting information about the hotel's history and Venice. Lovely breakfast!
I am a regular guest at this hotel so it goes without saying that I like it a lot and keep coming back. I only have two pieces of advice for fellow travelers that consider staying at Rigel: bring your own toiletries and come prepared for a single power outlet in your room.
this is unbelievable hotel from all aspects,
privacy, beauty of the property, location, professionalism of stuff and friendliness. we already decided to come back in September. I can’t thank enough the stuff to make our first stay unforgettable so there is more to come.
This is our second stay at Villa Edera. We love staying on the Lido and this Hotel is close to everything!
Staff is excellent! We loved our large balcony off the room. Great breakfast in the morning too starting at 7:30.
Highly recommend!
The hotel is located in beautiful gardens and breakfast is served here. The room was comfortable and well maintained.
Location was great as was a short walk to the beach and the town centre was an easy walk and parking was available.
The staff were very friendly, from the reception to the restaurant. They were very polite and cheerful. The room was very clean and had a good view overlooking to the beach. The hotel was just across the bus stop.
One of the best hotel where we ever stayed and we were the second time there. Really amazing beach and environment, specially the boat taxi to venice. Be there where all the stars stay when the film festival is.
The host family is very nice and welcome. They have given a gift for my daugthers birthday. The beach is very beautiful and close to the hotel. Family room is also big enough.
The hotel is awesome and the staff is lovely. Close walking distance to the beach, nice breakfast and quiet neighbourhood. We are looking forward to staying there again!
Fantastic value for money. Only stayed one night but staff were lovely, breakfast was included in the price and it was one of the best I’ve had in Venetian hotels
