We spent 2 weeks traveling around Sri Lanka and this was our favorite place to stay. It was an incredible room with high ceilings, AC, ceiling fan, clean bathroom, great location, amazing food, and an amazing host. We were able to do our laundry there as well. The location was perfect for safaris as well as Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla. Did I mention how great the food was? Don't hesitate to stay here. It's a special place.

We loved Jaye Eco Lodge. The family are super helpful, arranging all activities for us and also drove us to the center of town or for activities at very reasonable prices. We loved the breakfast and also bought all of our dinners there, which were a highlight of our trip. The garden is great for birdwatching and wildlife and you can walk a few minutes to see a couple of elephants at work and some rice paddies. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a nice shower (hot water was available but we never used it). It is a ways from the center, but what we most enjoyed was probably just the friendly, comfortable, and tranquil vibe.

We, a family of 5 (Kids aged 9,5&4), spent two exciting nights at the Mutu Village.
We were welcomed very warmly by the hotel manager Sameera, with whom we already had some great communication thru WhatsApp prior to our arrival. Sameera is an extremely friendly, open-minded person and great to chat with. He and his team took great care of us throughout our stay. We never missed anything and we always felt very welcomed.
As we had just climbed the Pidurangala (must-do!) we were all starving. When I asked for the menu the two guys serving us put up a BIG smile and told us that there was no menu and dinner would be a surprise. And in fact, it was a big surprise when we saw the big pots with fried rice, kottu, dhal curry and chicken. It was very delicious and we ate more than we probably should have. Especially, as there was still dessert to come.
Breakfast, served in a big basket, was fantastic, too: Egg hoppers, sweet bread, toast, a variety of other local specialities and a fruit platter - more than one could possibly eat.
The whole village is in the middle of the jungle with a beautiful, clean pool surrounded by air-conditioned tree houses. Our house was very clean and the mosquito nets over the beds very welcomed by most of the family as there is quite some wildlife going on. The outdoor bathroom was fun, and is to be shared with some other species.
We loved our stay here and we highly recommend it for anyone ready for a little adventure. Thank you Sameera and team for being incredible hosts.

Wonderful discovery in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect.
Wonderful discovery in Sri Lanka. Everything was perfect.
I was absolutely charmed by the 2 nights spent at Villa Habarana.
In the middle of nature, Villa Habarana is a peaceful place. The staff is attentive, smiling and deeply human, ready to fulfil your wishes within their villa.
The rooms are spacious, clean and air-conditioned, opening onto a private terrace with a coffee table and wooden armchairs.
The wifi is very fast, the cooking with the products of their garden is divine. I loved their rice and curry and their fruit juices.
In short, everything is taken care of to perfection from A to Z and revolves around a beautiful pool sheltered by frangipani trees.
I advise all those who will stop in the region of Habarana to contact them so that they can welcome you. You won’t be disappointed !
A happy traveller.

Great place to take family.
Great place to take family. Good elephant and monkey viewing. Interpretation skills weak with cultural assets and history. Ok food in area but mainly in accommodation providers. Others experiences not well advertised - nature trails, endangered birds, lagoon rides, local cuisine.

If you are going be sure to book through Gamini from Nature Travels at Trinco blue, Trincomalee!
He and his local guide Lokka Mali Nishante are the best guides you can find! They are so lovely and relaxed, and know of all the elefants habits so we got to see so many of them; small and big, and its all happening in their natural and peaceful surrounding! We were there i february when the elefants are in ECO park.

Minneriya and Kawudulla are important sanctuary parks we wanted to travel. However, we were able to travel only Hurulu Eco Park (because of rains this season) that which also gave us pleasure with the time available.
It is only one hour to Pollonnaruwa from Habaran where we saw the ancient kingdom
Food around Habarana was good with Lake Fish became favorite in our family
Vihanga Guest House is run by a wonderful family who took excellent care of me. The guest house is in their beautiful garden making for a very calm and peaceful environment. The rooms were clean and comfortable with A/C. The location is on the edge of Habarana so there is no traffic or outside noise but it is still easy to reach. They cooked me a fantastic dinner and breakfast. The family were very friendly making sure I had everything I needed and the kids even took me for a walk around the fields at sunset. Highly recommend staying here.
A small house in the jungle near the railway station.
The room is clean, the bed is comfortable. The area is sufficient for two people. Despite the proximity to the station and the road, it is very quiet and secluded, especially at night. It feels like a real jungle. Sometimes an elephant can pass by.
Good breakfast.
Nice hosts. They can meet you at the station and transport you to the place.
A good inexpensive place to stop in Habarana.
Everything about this place, I loved it. The prices are amazing, it is a small family-run guesthouse with lovely rooms in an amazing location. The owners are simply wonderful, they took me out to get something to eat, arranged a safari last minute for me for the elephants, and were incredibly attentive. 100% recommend for anyone stopping in this area, great option to go to the National Parks or to Sigiriya.
Dudley is an extremely welcoming and friendly host. He is also a very talented chef with experience of working in high end hotels across Australasia. He and his wife provided us with wonderful evening meals and some stunning breakfasts. His hotel is set in beautiful gardens with a fantastic swimming pool. It is also set well off the busy main road in Habarana, making for a peaceful stay. Highly recommended!
This was probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in during all my visits! With a quiet and peaceful environment, it not only helped me relax but also get my work done. The food exceeded my expectations especially the breakfast.. The room was really clean and I had a exceptional customer service throughout my stay. Friendly staff, nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend it to anyone!!
Habarana Village by Cinnamon is a great place to spend time and relax. The food here was great and so was the nature around the hotel which was the best part of my stay. The environment is calm and quiet and this is an ideal place for a relaxing stay. I enjoyed the little island and the treehouse they had on the hotel premises. The staff was super friendly too. I will be coming back again!
The hotel is set in very nice gardens, with lots of nature on show including butterflies and birds. It is a quiet area, although not far from major tourist attractions. The family room, with two bedrooms, was great for us. The staff were all excellent - very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is reasonably large, it never felt busy. Breakfast was good.
Incredibly kind & accommodating family who go out of their way to help you. The rooms were very clean & comfortable with great AC. The garden and pool area was beautiful! They made us delicious sei lankan food for dinner & breakfast and had great music playing in the background! Would 100% recommend staying at this accommodation for your stay in Habarana.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Room was comfy and large with balcony. Surrounded by nature. We were in halfboard and enjoyed both breakfast and dinner buffet. A good variety of international spread. Staff are so wonderful and warm. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Habarana again. Highly recommended
It is one of the best properties in the area and the icing on the cake is a very good and courteous staff. They all were so polite and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful with lots to do within the premises. a cool bar, lovely swimming pool and natural surroundings to explore. Overall a lovely stay with the perfect location
Hotel was clean and had a lovely pool area! The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn’t do enough. They picked us up from the train station and made sure dinner was ready for when we arrived. They also helped sort excursions for us to nearby attractions. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
The location is wonderfully quiet and Habarana is a good base for Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Dambulla. The host and his family did their utmost to advise us and arrange matters (arranging a Tuktuk, most convenient bus). The breakfast was extensive and varied. Dinner also tasted great.
If you like rustic you’ll love this place, the treehouses are basic but pretty , the pool area is also very nice. Great food !! Buffet style setup for all meals with a good choice. The hotel manager also helped us with our trips and transport which was very helpful!
Bio organic fruits (grown in the green garden resort) and juices, super good Sri Lankan food (so good and many different Curry types), help with trip planning and organization of transport; balcony of the two top rooms and their bathrooms with warm showers.
Good place. But they are playing with prices. For me via booking.com, it showed Rs 5100 only. But they charged RS 6500. Told several reasons. It's disgusting. I won't recommend this place to anyone.
Very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting this area.
