Everything was beautiful, comfortable and quiet, the house in the middle of tea plantations, almost like a movie. And Siri the administrator was so helpful and servicial, always willing to help with a smile, he prepared some bananas for us for our hiking to Siri Pada, very nice of him. I would back without doubt.

Communication was good and hotel even offered free transport from Hatton Station but we came from Kotagala, hence not taken the offer. Staff, especially Kiruban (apologies if misspelled), was very helpful and service was excellent.

We were told to treat the magnificent bungalow as our own home as we arrived and had a drink in the wonderful colonial drawing room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, the afternoon tea was the best I have had in my life.
We loved the walk around the tea plantations and swimming in the infinity pool

There is nothing to do in Hatton, the city itself is not very interesting. However you can take the scenic train route from Kandy to Hatton and then join the tea plantation tours and hikes and afternoon teas.
Many leeches so beware.
Way colder in temperatue than Minneriya, Dambula, Kandy etc.

Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains.
Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains. Gorgeous sceneries anywhere you look. The town has plenty of shops and banks. Pretty convenient to get everything you need. The hotels are run a bit differently to Colombo and Kandy. Not sure how to explain, but things are bit slower. It is great to hike there and search for waterfalls and the nature and beauty is unending. Lovely local people, friendly and kind. The temperature is seriously pleasant without the humidity. Even the tea plants love it.

lovely area - i would have liked to stay longer and do Adam's Peak . I enjoyed walking through the tea plantations and seeing the factory - and there were other hikes to do that we didn't have the time to do. Also, it is not too far from Kitulgala which is also a great place to go. we rafted there and loved it - and there is also a lovely rain forest there that we did not have the time to explore.

The Hatton area is the centre of Sri Lanka's tea industry and has a cool moderate climate. The area around Hatton and especially Castlereigh Lake is spectacular, with beautiful tea plantations waterfalls and stunning vistas. It is at an elevation of 3,000 meters so pack warm clothes as well as t-shirts as the weather is changeable. As a result of decades of British colonialism the region is dotted with fantastic Bungalows and the locals will speak English. If you can, try and arrive via train (use the second class tickets, first class is aircon and too cold with non-opening windows) from either Kandy or Nanu-Oya (Nuwara Eliya) its one of the most scenic train journeys in the world.

Hatton is the gateway to Sri Paada pilgrimage for the travellers from Colombo or specially the tourists. The town is small, packed but friendly and could have been lot more planned, cleaned and visitor friendly.
Our host was just fantastic! He made sure that we were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The surroundings of the property are great. We took an evening stroll in a tea plantation and could stay for sunset, with views on Adam's Peak.
The good thing is that this is a small building with two identical rooms/bathrooms. Not a crowdy hotel with loads of tourists.
We asked if we could get some food for the evening meal... it was outstandingly delicious and not too spicy! Breakfast was also outstanding.
Amazing property, a must go place in Hill Country.
Nice, clean and well maintained rooms.
Extremely friendly and professional staff
Anjana and the staff treated my family really well.
Clear and efficient communication to arrange our stay.
Food was delicious and they had a good menu to select from.
Stayed in both the chalets and family room, both are amazing and the best view you could ask for in a hotel.
This is a place where you should come to unwind and relax
One of my favorite places I’ve been to.
Everything !! Place was gorgeous , saman and his wife treated us like their own family , everything we asked was granted and we'll beyond our expectation , food was outstanding , breakfast was brilliant , saman also helped us with making itenary and route to.visit places to around hatton , one of the best place we stayed in srilanka so far and ohh hatton and surrounding area ...breathtaking ...thank you saman and family , you made our stay memorable
The reservation was confirmed by bookings.com and when I called them, they also confirmed it and sent me the location too. ( proof available).
But on arrival, I was informed by the reception that the bookings were full and that my reservation could not be accepted.
Yes they said sorry for the mistake, but it took me many kilometres and my valuable time to go to the hotel and get it informed. Totally dissapointed.
Beautiful scenic mountain view from the balcony, Walking distance from Hatton town, room was very clean with comfortable beds and clean bathroom. The landlord, Rishard was very hospitable and helpful. He arranged our tour to Adams peak and other attractions around the area. We also enjoyed a nice breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Whitehouse Bungalow.
what a wonderful homestay. Nice room with sunrise views from the bed and the echo of monks chanting and birds singing - wonderful experience! Best food I have had in Sri Lanka so far (3 months) Gorgeous family who make you feel so welcome and go the "extra yard". I stayed 7 nights and the breakfast was different, filling!! and with the view - so special.
Nice colonial house, refreshing bedroom and modern bathroom.

Seriously the best stay I had in whole of sri lanka. Get the balcony rooms as they have amazing view in the mornings. The hosts were amazing - they offerred a free ride to Hatton station, the hostess cooked amazing meals for us - including theamazing breakfast spread. Great wifi. Highly recommend a day trip with the host.
The hosts at this property are some of the most kind, caring and lovely people I have ever met.
We stayed in Hatton so we could do Adams peak at sunrise, Priyanthi was very helpful and organised a tuk tuk for us at a great price.
Very glad we stopped at this property 😁
The room was amazing, the breakfast and the food in the restaurant really good and many many options. All the staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the manager Yaso, super cool guy, helped us a lot with information and sort out cheap transport for us
Excellent location just a short walk into the main town. Views from the hotel are beautiful and relaxing. Room was clean and spacious. I can not thank the owner enough, was very helpful and accommodating! Would definitely recommend if staying in Hatton.
Beautiful clean hotel in amazing surroundings with a good spa. We recommend their messages .
Staff are so friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Janarthan for the hospitality!
Wish we stayed more !
Highly recommended!
Loved the view from the balcony, the hot water shower was the hottest with the highest pressure in all of Sri Lanka! The food that they cooked up was some of the best I've had in Sri Lanka, especially the mushroom curry.
Staff (especially Daya & Laxman) were excellent in attending to our needs, rooms were very big as well as the bathroom, food was good, location was nice- surrounded by tea plantations, etc.
