This town is at 2140 meters elevation and is very cold in the evenings going as low a 4c. You need to make sure there are doors to shut out the cold, hot water and plug in heaters that will not blow the circuits. Our accomodationon on booking said that because the ad did not say anything about heating that they were not obligated to supply it. Make sure that the living space has doors installed so that the cold air can't enter anywhere if it is an apartment. Ie no open air kitchen or living room with just doors to bedrooms.

This town is so charming! Very laid-back and tranquil.
This town is so charming! Very laid-back and tranquil. (We were not visiting during the Dia de Muertos celebrations.) The central plaza is really beautiful, well utilized by the people and yet still felt low-key. The architecture is pleasing to the eye. I also love that you can see the mountains and countryside in the distance. Unlike a lot of colonial cities (I live in one), Patzcuaro does not feel closed in because the buildings are almost all no taller than two levels. I can't wait to go back!

Really enjoyed the place, it was real, not done up for tourism. The markets in the s square were bustling and vibrant, we loved the sense of community, and as visitors we could observe the real local culture
My wife and I stayed at Casa de la Real Aduana and loved it! We choose it based primarily on the online reviews and it did not disappoint. It was the perfect location to explore Pátzcuaro, surroundings, and the beautiful Mexican culture. The hotel, rooms, and courtyard were so fine – like being in an art museum. And Gemma and Didier were so gracious – we were treated like guest in their home. The staff was so polite and attentive. We highly recommend it!
Lovely historic building, nice staff, wonderful view from upstairs dining room. So happy the building has been kept close to its original state - wood floors, very high ceilings with wood beams. Very nice terraza/courtyard. Recommend rooms just off the courtyard. Perfect location across from Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Salud. Have stayed here in the 80s, 90s, & 2000s. This time brought two grandchildren, ages 12 & 15. We all loved out stay there.
Room, buildings and grounds were beautiful, well-kept, and clean. Bed was comfortable. Ample, safe parking. Despite being on a busy road, I heard no noise. This hotel is a 15 or so minute brisk walk to the large plaza, so keep that in mind: was good for me as incentive to get exercise before dinner and nieve de pasta. Close walk to Bodega Aurrera and found laundry nearby. I would gladly stay again.
Location was perfect for our first visit to Patzcuaro. We are walkers. We walked everywhere and always were happy to find our way back to the shelter and tranquility of Posada YoliHuani. The friendly and helpful staff, the lovely gardens, the ample breakfasts and the overall restful environment exceeded all expectations.
The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of Patzcuaro. It is very quiet and the room was nice. There was a fire place in the room, and I was afraid it was going to be cold; however, it was not cold at all and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good and had natural light.
Lovely little hotel close to historic center in a quite neighborhood. The beds were extremely comfortable and the design of the hotel was very nice. They have a fire pit on the first floor terrace and a kitchen. We sat there with our friends in the evenings and drank wine enjoying the fire.
Perfect location. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful and in good condition especially considering the building was constructed in the 1700s. Our room had a balcony facing the main square which gave us wonderful views. We would definitely stay here again.
property was in a great location with private, secure parking on the property.
It’s within walking distance to the 3 plaza, restaurants, vendors and shops that we like to visit while in Patzcuaro.
The staff was also very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely stay her again!
Beautiful hotel - luxurious - pool setting incredible overlooking the lake. The service was superb. Restaurant food incredible - breakfast poolside was outstanding. Could not have been any better actually. Bed was super comfortable & fireplace in room. Shower perfect.
Absolutely above and beyond hosts Didier and Gemma offer 5-star accommodations, breakfast, service and and an impeccably friendly experience in Patzcuaro. Location is superb just off the Plaza Grande close to cafés, restaurants and shops. I cried when I left!
Cute charming hotel. Gives you the charm of the city and is located 2 blocks away from downtown which makes it a great location. Small hotel that gives you enough privacy to truly feel peaceful.
This hotel is a beautiful, historic property. The decorations and common spaces are extraordinary. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel is beautifully located at the top of the mountain with a view of the lake and the islands. Staff were super friendly and there were two lovely cats.
