The hotel was in a very good location , we had a room overlooking the harbour which was picture perfect.
In the corridor was a small kitchen unit which you could use, it had a kettle, fridge and coffee machine (filter coffee).
If you like a good dinner with a fabulous garden and view over the bay just walk out of the hotel across the road to Villa Rosehagen, not cheap but well worth it.
You are about a 10 minute drive away from Preikestolen.
Featuring a garden and lake views, Preikestolen BaseCamp is located 3.7 km from The Pulprit Rock, and is the starting point for the hike towards the mountain plateau.

We booked a small room and it is in the old building. it is OK for the money and the location is a good place if you want to do the hiking in the early morning.
Set in Jørpeland in the Rogaland region, Modern apartment in the Harbour of Jørpeland has a balcony. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the apartment free of charge.

It's a stunning and convenient location next to the harbor, we even were able to start a hike right outside the door. We really appreciated the coffee machine and having a washer and dryer, as well as the responsiveness of the host when we had an issue with the door and some other questions.

We stayed here after a hike to Preikestolen. If you have a car it is very close to the village of Tau (about 10 minutes) and not a lot more until Preikestolen.
We loved the cabin and the surroundings, it had a beach with mountains all around and it is possible to rent kayaks and even fish if you bring the gear.
It was good that, even though it was a camping, they provided bed linen and we just need to bring our own towels.
Located in Strand and only 20 km from The Lysefjord, Koselig og rolig leilighet med utsikt nær Preikestolen provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark.
We hiked to Preikestolen from the carpark. My husband and I are both 65 and even though there is a lot of uneven tracks and rocks and some steep sections, if you take your time and have plenty of breaks you will be well and truely rewarded by some amazing scenery. I felt I was really in Norway when I reached some of the view points. Even though it was raining when we started the walk, it did clear and by the time we made it to Pulpit Rock the sun was shining. We were also lucky that there were not many people there on that day!! About 60? Took us about 5 1/2 hours to do the return trip with plenty of stops for admiring the views and lunch.. Well worth the sore legs the next day!!!

Jørpeland was a very quiet town.
Jørpeland was a very quiet town. Quaint and authentic, but not many dining options for those looking for a meal and a drink. But, for those who are looking for an access point to the great outdoors, it is great!
The trails and people were wonderful.
I missed my flight,
so I arrived very late at the hotel, after midnight!
The owners of the house were very kind and kept in touch with me through messages and emails..
They left me the key to the room so that I could enter independently...
The service was excellent and kind!
The room is really small, but with a shower and toilet inside.
The breakfast was good.
There is parking for cars and a beautiful view!
Also, the hotel is really close to pulpit rock, recommended..
The hotel's location is excellent, right at the starting point of the Trolltunga hiking trail, and they offer free parking for guests. This was the only hotel we booked with breakfast on our trip to Norway, and the breakfast was quite generous. Staying at the hotel had a significant advantage as we were able to hike to Trolltunga twice, once on the first afternoon and again on the second morning, of course, thanks to the good weather.
The fjellstue has an excellent location to start the hike to Preikestolen. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms and that was comfortable and clean, with comfortable beds. I liked the modern architecture and interior of wood (which smelled nice!), glass and stone. The meals and wine were tasteful and good and you have a lovely view from the restaurant over the lake and mountains.
I stayed in a nest/tent. Loved it! There is heating and usb ports inside for charging your phone etc. There's also a communal tent with a fridge and freezer which is a bonus.
Excellent location, beautiful surroundings. Good breakfast in the main hotel.
Remember to bring your own sleeping bag if you're planning on staying in the nest.
The hotel standard was even better than we expected. Very nice staff that even spoke some german, breakfast was very good especially for Norwegian conditions, free parking directly at the hotel or also for free nearby. Absolutely recommended place where we could have even stayed a bit longer and very good value for it's price.
I stayed in room 301, everytime somebody used the elevator the whole room was shaking, not to mention the noise. Very small room for the money, Lot of noise from idiots with radio turned up in their car driving by en moppets with i think no muflers. They wont see me again there its a bad motel not a hotel.
The room was what we expected, the bed was very comfy. Of course it's not a very spacious room or bathroom but perfect for a few nights. Overall the hotel is very nice, has a good atmosphere and views. Great location for the Pulpit Rock hike and very good breakfast! Staff was helpful as well.
It was a brilliant stay at “Modern Apartment in the Harbour of Jørpeland”. Simply perfect! Great location, lovely atmosphere in the city, 3 min walk to 3 supermarkets. 12 min driving from the natural wonder of Norway - Pulpit Rock. I can without hesitation recommend this place.
This is not the hotels fault but please read the details. Having said that it was still an experience and did the trick. I know I won't ever forget it. Beautiful spot and very good restaurant on site. Perfect location for Pulpit Rock.
The hotel is located on half way from Stavanger to Pulpit Rock trail. I recommend to stay there if you have a car, as the place is perfect to explore beautiful areas around.
Rooms are tiny but comfortable. Breakfast was very good
There's a really nice cafe/restaurant nearby - walking distance, with their very own beer on tap. The room was comfy and clean. The breakfast served was above expectations. Overall a very solid hotel.
Proximity to the trail, beautiful location on a lake, simplicity of ghe hotel, yet spaciousness - the rooms are on a small side (at least, if you travel with kids), but lots of common places.
Cute hotel, near harbor, clean room, good breakfast, grocery/restaurants/pharmacy all within walking distance. Great location for a short drive to Pulpit Hike.
