You can walk to Cathedral Cove from Hahei Beach Resort, follow the beach and connect to the Cathedral Cove walkway (the walk takes about 1 hour each way).

The location couldn't have been much better, just a short walk across a green space to the small town of Hahei. Mike and Andrea were terrific hosts and gave us good advice on things to do and places to eat. They also provided a shovel for nearby Hot Water Beach.

The Church Accommodation was better than it looked in the photos, very clean and comfortable and they provided a great breakfast tray.
We received a really warm welcome and the owners provided lots of information about the area and Hot Water Beach. The grounds were beautiful and our cottage provided everything we needed. Close to the town centre and the beach we liked staying here.

The location was great and easy to find. We only stayed one night, which was a shame as we'd have loved to stay longer. The kitchen was well equipped, and things like clingfilm and foil were available. We cooked and used the dishwasher, so again, it was great to have all that available. Loved the outside shower, although we didn't use it.
They provide kids buckets and spades for hotwater beach. The beds were comfortable too.
They also provided a great little selection of books for kids and a couple of games.

We arrived after Cyclone Lola so it was wet and sea was churned up with a big swell. The sun came out and we enjoyed our evening walk on the beach which is beautiful. The morning we got up at 5.30 am and drove to the foot of Te Pare and walked up to the point for sunrise photos. We did the Hahei explorer boat trip which was a great way to see the coastline which is currently shut to walkers. Later we drove to Hot Water Beach which was great fun leaping the huge waves! The tide and swell was too high to dig spa pools but we felt the hot water with our toes! We had dinner both nights in The Pour House which served amazing food.

Phil and Sue were fantastic hosts.
Phil and Sue were fantastic hosts. They helped us with great advice regarding road closures we encountered on the way. Thanks to Phil, we found an alternate route and missed the closure completely.
Once we arrived we felt so welcome and Phil gave us a ride up to the start of the Cathedral Cove walk.
I highly recommend staying here.

We would have liked to give the accommodation Cathedral Cove Appartment a 9.7 score as we thought it was much better than a 9.0 which is what it caame up as We rated all the amenities as the best we could and thought that the score would come up as more than 9
Jane was amazing! So welcoming, gave us excellent advice for hitting two of the most commonly visited sites in Hahei. We traveled in NZ for 30 days and this stay was one of the highlights of the trip. These hosts are lovely and kind! The lodging was gorgeous and the most comfortable stay we had in NZ. Mostly due to the fact that she has screens up to allow for airflow and no bugs! Amazing! We didn't have screens anywhere else in NZ. Anyway, 10/10 would recommend! Plus, breakfast in the am!
The view was amazing! We saw glorious sunrises every morning! Watching the stars at night and listening to the ocean was truly meditating. The amount of glass provided so much light you felt like you were a part of the environment.
The house was clean and decorations cute with vintage vibes. The beds were comfortable and they provided both regular and beach towels. It had everything we needed. The library had amazing books! The location was serene and away from a main road.
what a great find. fantastic little Bach, really well kitted out with great quality fixtures and fittings, a really comfy bed and a super hot power shower. it was literally a 5 minute walk on the flat to the beach and shops were closer. This had literally everything we needed and was comfortable with lots of little homely touches in the artwork etc. Nice area to eat outside too. We stayed 4 nights and wished we’d had longer.
Had a wonderful stay! The hosts were very kind but not at all imposing, set us up with everything we needed then left us to enjoy the stay. They were very flexible and let us leave some things for a late checkout after a day of activities which really helped us enjoy a stress free day in Hahei. Beautiful view of the beach and stargazing at night away from the city lights. Facilities were very clean and well looked after.
Excellent B&B. Spacious room with outside sitting area. Great shower. Super breakfast - freshly cooked with good choices. Phil and Sue are welcoming and helpful hosts - lots of good local knowledge and useful suggestions. This property and Hahei are recommended. Nice beach, kayak trips are super and the beer and pizza at the Pour House recommended. Mercury Vineyard great on a nice sunny day.
Our spacious, comfortable and well-appointed apartment meant that our stay at beautiful Hahei Beach was a delight.
Our apartment was conveniently situated with the beach, all activities and the township being only a few minutes walk.
With sea kayaking, snorkelling, diving, water tours and walks there is so much to enjoy at Hahei.
Thank you to our marvellous and caring hosts.
The location was perfectly located near the beach and hikes we wanted to take. Mary and Kevin were very hospitable, helpful, and gracious. The house was clean, and our room was comfortable and private. The breakfast and morning coffee was a delight!!!! The view from our room didn't disappoint!!! Breathtaking!!
Just a few steps from the Hahei beach that we got to see the sunrise. :)
Also close to shops: ice cream, pizza and burgers, etc.
Place is always clean + the owners and staff were very a commodating that we're planning to book there again soon.
Literally a 5 min walk to Hahei Beach! They let us check in early so we could enjoy the beach with their beach towels. Very clean and modern inside. They had everything you needed especially in the kitchen! We wished we stayed longer.
Great garden view from private deck from unit. BBQ available for our own use.
Loved the natural bush and bird song.
A short walk to the amazing beach.
Had a super fun coastline and cave boat ride with Hahei explorer boat Co.
Ponga eco-lodge was a lovely escape for myself and my partner. It was lovely to have the e-bikes to explore hahei. Beautifully set in the hills and to be able to relax in the spa to watch the sunset.
We loved the attention to detail. Beautiful landscaping, kitchen fulled equipped, towels with flowers. Located in lovely village near beach. Delightful owners.
Clean and newish apartment. Well located to walk to beautiful beach and the very few shops and eating places nearby. Very pleasant and helpful proprietor.
