Very clean rooms and bathroom. Excellent breakfast, large variety of fresh hams and meats, with skillfully made scrambled eggs. Excellent reception was open at 2am. Building has nice character too.

I was surprised with the Fortress that is available for exploring and this requires full day which we didn't have. There is potential in the area to see a lot of history remains in both sides of border. There is interesting Railroad station with tracks on two levels.

The place is great - tells how the city was like Pompeyee once and then was turned into ruins by the soviet army.
A great walk along the Odra river. Feels the German influence nearby. A bit sleepy town with nothing to do but for the Muzeum Twierdzy Kostrzyn and PN Ujście Warty. The first gives you the insight into the history of the region and the latter a chance to observe wildlife (280 species of birds).

Kostrzyn is ok,but nothing special.
Kostrzyn is ok,but nothing special. Its ruins are of moderate interest. Because it's near the German border.it has plenty of "duty-free" shops which cater for the many German tourists who buy cigarettes and alcohol in them at cheap rates.
I used some of my time there to visit the lovely town of Gorzow Wielkopolski,a few kilometres further into Poland and left Kostrzyn to its own devices!!

Cold War crossing point on the main road from Berlin to...
Cold War crossing point on the main road from Berlin to Warsaw now superseded by the new autobahn to the south and quieter as a result.
Plenty of history for military buffs including the ruins of an old Prussian fortress, Frederick the Great's battle at Zorndorf and Zhukov's assault on the Seelow Heights across the German border. The Oderbruch and Warta confluence are an acquired taste being early examples of land recovery and management. There is good 'cycling for softies' to be had in the area both sides of the old border and a long-distance route along the River Oder from Stettin to Silesia on quiet roads.
There is also an extensive bird sanctuary just SE of the town.

A basic, no-frills hotel located in an old pre-war building, bang in the town centre and a mere 5-minute walk from the railway station. We booked a triple room with ensuite bathroom which at 35€ was excellent value for money. TV-set, internet, additional sofa and a table plus a decently equipped bathroom were included. No breakfast was provided but kitchen and dining room on 3rd floor, hostel-style, were available. Free secure on-site parking was a bonus.
I needed a hotel because the train connections to Berlin were disrupted, it was late, and I needed wifi for a morning zoom meeting. Since this place was the dearest in town, I thought it would have reliable wifi, which it did. But......despite it being modern and luxurious in the room - the whole visit left a sour taste due to staff.
This property is part of a restaurant and bakery. If you stay here definitely have the food in the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing which was included. Also they have very good cake selection. Atmosphere was really nice. There is a playground behind the hotel. Great for having a trip with kids. Very green and fresh around.
Bastion hotel is, in actual fact, the only hotel in Kostrzyn nad Odra whose standards can meet "international customers needs". And moreover, his situation is very convenient, close to German border. Yet, city center is a bit far away. They speak a little English and a little German.
Quite good hotel, looks better inside than from outside. Rooms are clean and beds as well. Free parking provided, wifi works well. Breakfast is average, nothing exceptional, receptionist is very friendly.
The hotel is located in a really old building, yet rooms were refurbished. In general rooms are clean, yet the hotel has a rather strange unpleasant smell to itself. Parking available.
