Very endearing old house with a pretty pool. Unfortunately during my stay there I couldn’t swim in it- already the end of the season. Quiet and beautiful place, and an easy walk to the clean and peaceful town center. Both Anna and Neves very kind and helpful. Showed me the beautiful walk along river Minho and suggested places to eat.
Nice. little rustical accommodation in reconstructed the big house surrounding by vineyards - but still not too far from city centre of Melgaco.
Host were very kind and were waiting for our delayed departure for more than a hour.
Room was pleasant, even little dark with limited storage space. We stayed only one night so it did not mind.
Breakfast was quite sufficient, offered only to us in living room next to our room.
Even stuff did not speak English we communicate well and lady who served the breakfast to us was very kind.
Definitely location: In the forest on the river Minho! Fixe! Comfy beds and spacious rooms all overlooking the river, forest and pool area.
The fabulous forest hiking trail on wooden walkway was the highlight here! 💚
Love the use of the beautiful super clean pools of the spa ( incl in the hotel price - WELL DONE! ) A first!
I recently stayed at a charming place that exudes an old-world charm. Located in the heart of the Alvarinho wine region in Melgaço it offers an authentic experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming, making you feel like a part of their family. I highly recommend it for a unique and delightful getaway.
It was all great. The rooms have the typical old portuguese charm and the breakfast in the morning sitting in the garden with a breathtaking view worth every penny.
We did a tour from Douro to Galizia and slept every night in a different village/city and no doubt in Melgaço was the best.
The hotel has magnificent views. The room was very large and spacious, so was the bathroom. Very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. Excelent breakfast and restaurant, and spa facilities (interior pool, turkish bath and jacuzzi - which had clean water even at the end of the day).
We loved almost everything! The view, the location and the theme of the hotel was amazing, the staff was super supportive, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the balcony gives something extra to the room! The breakfast had a good variety of products for a 4* hotel.
The hotel is nestled in a forest with several walking trails nearby. The Pool and Sauna were excellent, the water was just at the right temperature. An excellent breakfast can be savored by admiring the wonderful view of the forest and mountains.
Quinta da Calçada is a beautiful place in the heart of Melgaço. We were very well received, the owner sent us a long list with tips to do and great restaurants to try. The surroundings of the Quinta were beautiful.
The cleanliness of the room and overall hotel
The staff always very helpful
The pool area
The breakfast was tasty
It is a very quiet place, very good to rest and recharge batteries.
Great location in Melgaço town center, kind and attentive host. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, though it could use some updates in furnishings.
