Arribas Sintra Hotel, hotel in Sintra

The westernmost hotel in Europe, located on the magnificent coast of Sintra, right on Praia Grande.

The best part of our stay here was the exceptional location. Literally, we were on a beach. The constant sound of the waves was so relaxing and mesmerizing. It was wonderful. The hotel is very nice. Our room was very clean and quite comfortable. The staff members were friendly and helpful, both at the reception desk and in the restaurant. The breakfast was great, offering many varied choices from savory (eggs, meats and cheeses) to sweet (pastries and fruit). Couldnt ask for more. There were a few really good restaurants within walking distance. We went to one of them twice.

Sintra Bliss Hotel, hotel in Sintra

Located in the center of Sintra, the Bliss Hotel is a designer hotel full of character, fitted with contemporary interiors.

Staff were courteous, efficient and well informed. We lost a hat on a taxi ride and they went out of their way to try and track it down and return it to us. This was above the usual level one might expect. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was fresh with a great variety of options for all tastes. The location was great - close to the train, buses, taxis and restaurants. It was an easy walk into the historic centre and tourist area downtown. We had an excellent experience and would recommend this hotel to others looking for good basic accommodations close to everything in Sintra.

really beautiful city. if you have time, you can spend up to 5 days with enough interesting sightseeing to visit. the traffic is heavy so I recommend to take buses or walking because uber/bolts can take too long to arrive where you are. the best was a hiking from Sinta Palace to the historical center, really nice views

Sintra is a very pleasant city with a small but bustling old town. Restaurants are very good for the money. Parking would be a nightmare so don't drive in for the day. (our hotel had parking) Pena Palace was beautiful, then was dow to the Moorish Castle. but in my opinion, the crown jewel was Quinta Regliera. Make sure to get tickets online in advance!

    Sintra is a beautiful town.

Sintra is a beautiful town. There are many places to see, but so many other tourists it is hard so some attractions. If you want to go to attractions you need to purchase tickets ahead of time and make sure you have reliable transportation to the attractions. Allow ample time to get to where you are going b/c traffic to the tourist sights are usually jammed with traffic. Lots of places to eat and shop.

Historical part of Sintra certainly deserves a visit when you are in the area. In my opinion one full day will do to see visit the park and some of the palaces. You would start early so a stay overnight might be more convenient for some.Tickets are easily booked online and I purchased an audio tour to listen to on my phone. There are are tuktuk or taxi drivers around that can bring you to the entrance of the park from where you can walk to the Palace de Pena and other sites. There are several entrances. Instead going to the busy main entrance I took a tuktuk to the entrance of the Valley of the Lakes, a 45 min. walk away from Palace de Pena. It a beautiful and quiet part of the park and I took a detour to see the chalet and garden of the Countess of Edla, which I loved even more than the palace itself. Visiting the palace involved long waits in line and walking in files through the rooms. Not my thing. The park is huge with a diversity in plants and trees, it has a camelea and a fern garden, just nice to wonder around for a few hours. Bring snacks and drinks if you want to avoid the waiting line for the cafeteria at the palace.

    Lots of walking.

Lots of walking. Ideally 3-4 days to hit everything comfortably. Old Town is closed to motor traffic so rideshare, taxis, and public transportaion are your best bet. Rideshare works to the sites well but can often be a problem getting back

We liked the back garden. It was nice to relax after walking all day. The staff were very kind and helpful. They let us know the Palace had timed visits. This was very important. Our advice is to arrive early as possible for the palace. We were able to access an iron which is not always possible in Portugal. The location is great as it is a short walk from the train station and close to many restaurants. The hotel is 140 years old and has lots of stairs. The staff were happy to help with bags.

Very comfortable well equipped Villa with everything needed, beautiful small garden, excellent breakfasts, plenty of free parking, easy access by car (unlike most of Sintra which is horrific to access by car). Marco is an interesting fellow. I enjoyed talking with him. He helped me with some tasks I needed to do as a new resident of Portugal. I could walk 15 minutes to the train station (note the walk is on a steep hillside). I will return.

Location was central to town while also being on a side street so it was much quieter. Super cozy bed which was cleaned everyday. Felt more like a hotel then a hostel, which is a plus to me:) lots of amenities, jazz music outside for dinner which was the perfect level of noise. Simple but convenient breakfast and knowledgeable staff. truly one of our best stays in Portugal thus far!

This hotel exemplifies an excellent boutique hotel. You'll be staying in a literal restored palace, with ties to the area and a vibe to match the charm of Sintra. The attentive staff, wine and cheese evenings, live music, and family of peacocks all add to that charm. The grounds are large and interesting, with gardens, a greenhouse, trails, sitting areas, etc.
