Placido Hotel Douro - Tabuaco, hotel in Tabuaço

Situated in the Alto Douro Wine Region, this property is 10 km from the Douro riverside area. Placido Hotel Douro - Tabuaço is 2 km from the Tabuaço centre and São Plácido Chapel is 150 metres away.

It was out of season and the hotel was extremely quiet. It was just a one night stopover and the weather was appalling. Staff were very helpful and breakfast just as we ordered.

Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta, hotel in Tabuaço

Located in Ervedosa do Douro, 29 km from Douro Museum, Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

Fantastic location with beautiful landscaping. The vineyard is filled with wild flowers at this time of year and the walk down to the river to catch the boat was very special. Breakfast was very good - particularly the freshly squeezed orange juice (I'd guess from the estate) and the snack sandwich we had on arrival (roast beef) was AMAZING! Very helpful staff. I highly recommend.

Quinta Nova Winery House - Relais & Châteaux, hotel in Tabuaço

Sitting in 120 hectares of Douro Valley vineyards, this traditional manor house has been converted into Portugal’s first wine hotel.

Quinta Nova is an amazing experience and the location and views are outstanding, the staff were lovely, although language was sometimes a challenge, they may have been a little short staffed while we were there as we did have to wait a while when we ordered drinks a few times. The position and overall experience was wonderful.

The Quinta de Sao Luiz, where we were staying, made a reservation for us at a restaurant in Tabuaco. The drive to the restaurant was challenging due to the serpentine road and rainy weather. I don't think there was much to do in that small town, but we had an okay experience at the restaurant.

The trip to the Quinta was through some wonderful rambling winding roads in the Douro valley. There are many places to visit there, and although we thought the location was perfect, some might like a location closer to town and not so far from Porto.

Town in the hills, great view, beautiful park with a small fountain with 6 turtles and a turtle men who takes care of them (btw. he looks as a turle too 😄). Our favourite place for dinner was Taverna next to a lovely church, which makes you laught in the evening between 8 And 9, how many it rigs the bell. Sisters who ran the Taverna are incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. Don't Miss the chance to see the Most peculiar astronomical clock in the Information centre, which Is made by local cloackman. It is an absolutely unique masterpiece, only seen in Tabuaço and the lady from the Information centre will explain you all about it, except after the death of the creator, nobody can fix it 😄

Wonderful small boutique hotel, nicely designed in a great location right in the center of the winery with exceptional views of the valley, and river, plus outstanding hospitable staff makes this place a perfect choice to stay in The Duoro Valley. The complimentary tour of the winery was like icing on the cake. Anna, specially went beyond her line of duty to make our stay perfect and memorable. She treated us like a family member. Luiz, our wine tour guide was very knowledgable and made this the best wine tour we ever had.

We wanted a quaint but fulfilling getaway in Douro Valley. We spent part of our honeymoon at this property and are thrilled that we did. The views are incredible. The cottage we stayed in had a kitchenette, a living area with a view and a porch that was hard to leave. This stay requires a drive and the closest restaurants are about a 15-minute drive but if you bring a few items for meals, it simplifies the travel. Anywhere you stay in the “mountains,” a remote experience is expected. We loved Edna, who runs the property.

The property is fabulous! it’s like being in small luxury boutique hotel. The location is fantastic on a vineyard, the views are beautiful! The room was beautifully appointed, with lash robes etc. There is a pool with the view of the vineyards. The pre fix dinner was delicious ($40 pp), the wine you can buy on the premises delicious. you can have a wine tasting at certain times. And something what we noticed and it’s unusual: amazing pillows!!! yes, pillows were great! Overall amazing stay!

We liked everything! A little paradise in the heart of Douro! The view from the property is amazing on the vineyards and the Douro valley. The house is very clean and well equipped. I personally enjoyed the quality of the bed and the bed linen. The swimming pool is perfect to relax. There is a barbecue available which is perfect to grill some fish or meat! The village is very quiet and peaceful. If you want to immerse yourself into rural Portugal, it is the perfect place.

The family hosts were amazing, always available and exceptionally helpful. The property and location are stunning and the surrounding areas of the Douro valley are all within easy reach. This is a magical part of Portugal. If you intend to explore the Douro, or just relax, the Padrela Winery House is an exceptional to stay.

We loved the 4 days at Quinta da Padrela Winery House - everything from the location (which is a great base in which to explore the rest of the Douro) to the Quinta to the highly entertaining and animated wine tasting given by Jose Rodriguez to the great wines, olive oil and cheeses. It was really special:)

It's a beautiful property inside and out -- many excellent design decisions. We enjoyed walking around the Adorigo village (Tabuaço district) an authentic Douro neighborhood. It's a fun ten minute drive up twisty roads from the river at Quinta do Tedo.

Beautiful villetta with a small pool, right in the vineyard. Location is great, but a little further inside the Douro Valley. Not far from Pinhada. Did a wine tasting at the Travesso property, enjoyed very much.
