Rasta House was a great place to stay. The bungalow was spacious and had an excellent balcony/deck with a hammock. It is a basic island bungalow so be prepared for some critters but there is a mosquito net. The staff were kind and helpful. The location is right in the center of the island, easy walk down to Hin Talu or up to a collection of restaurants and shops at the main road. With a motorbike you can get to the other end of Buffalo Bay or Long Beach or the Pier. There is a great restaurant next door with coffee, food, motorbikes and laundry(although Rasta house does laundry and has some motorbikes too).
Offering water sports facilities, an open-air bath, and free Wifi, Tropical Hostel is a recently renovated guest house a 4-minute walk from Aow Yai Beach and 1.1 miles from Koh Payam.

This hostel is by far the best one I ever stayed in. Almost everyone staying here had to extend their stay at least once, because it is just so comfortable in here. If you like hippie vibes and not so crowded beaches, Koh Phayam is really it for u. This hostel is truly a hidden gem :)) lots of love

Could hear the sound of the surf from the bungalow and I love swimming in the sea. Dining on the beach was super and the restaurant food was very good. Bungalows were comfortable and clean. The resort didn’t overwhelm the nature. The cost was a real plus; JJ’s delivered great vacation value.

What a beautiful, mostly unspoilt island, lovely beaches, jungle and no cars! Laid back atmosphere. The food was amazing, much, much better than in Koh Tao where we are now. Lovely local people. A real gem - let’s hope it doesn’t go the way of Koh Samui and Koh Tao.

The Island is incredible - beautiful, lush and lovely to explore by scootie, cycle or walking. Our fav restaurant was The Kitchen Table run by Chioko. Best brusketta and place to hang with sweet kitties and dogs. Also Flower Power has excellent Italian food. We loved our stay in Bamboo Bungalos. Can’t wait to go back! Pure heaven.

Phayam is a paradise of older Thailand. (No MacDonalds!!!!)
Phayam is a paradise of older Thailand. (No MacDonalds!!!!) The Thai and Burmese that live and work on the island are always friendly, helpful and HONEST. Getting around the island is easy and cheap, whether by foot, motorbike, bicycle or motorbike taxi. The food is delicious, with a variety of cuisines for those who want a change from Thai or Burmese food, many of the foodstuffs are sourced locally, including seafood caught from the sea surrounding Phayam, food and accomodation are very affordable, I have been coming to Phayam for ~ 8 years now and won’t stop.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The owner is also owner of a local scooter rental, so you can easily get scooters by asking hotel staff.
The food there was also fantastic and the location at Buffalo Bay close to the Hippie Bar offers an awesome sight.
During breakfast, there's a good chance you will be joined by a few hornbill birds. They are hanging out there quite a lot.
Would definitely recommend this place.
There is swimming pool next to the beach. Good view and we can order foods from hotel’s restaurant. Foods and coffee are so delicious.
Room is not far from the beach and hotel is not far from the pier. Hotel provides car to pick up and drop off at the pier. Hotel can reserve speed boat for 600 thb per person (go and back).
dont think twice - book it! great location. Amazing grounds, helpfull staff. Delicious food, we ate in most of the time - super talented chef . Cozy, quiet bungalows. Very Close walk to the beach. Lek is incredibly helpfull, with everything. So glad we booked, stayed 9 nights .thank you Rabbit Bungalow 🤍
100% perfect location on the south end of Buffalo Bay. Only a few bungalows tucked away in the trees so never felt busy. Incredibly quiet and peaceful, surroundings immersed in nature. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and served above average food.
Stayed here back in 2019/20. Lovely beachfront bungalows with AC. Room are basic but have everything needed. It is a short 10/15 minute walk to other bars/restaurants. Nice and quiet at this end of the beach. The owners we’re fantastic again. Will definitely stay here again
I liked the huts that were located directly on the beach. They looked kind of cute, minimalistic but had everything we needed. Beach is amazing. Coffee in the morning at the hotel’s restaurant was amazing. I didn’t try the breakfast but it looked really good too.
Great PRICE-PERFORMANCE ratio, friendly and very accommodating staff, fast Wifi, location directly at the beach, only a few infrastructure around hotel, the beach was suitable for swimming as the water level is always enough
Excellent location and stunning grounds. Very helpful and friendly staff. The food was also very good. Although all the bungalows were full so we had to stay in a dormitory. They were very airy, clean and comfortable
The staff are super lovely and kind. There is an excellent restaurant on site that serves vegetarian meals at a good price. The bamboo bungalows are comfortable. I'll be going back if I revisit Ko Phayam.
The island was stunning. It truly was paradise. The accommodation was nice and simple. The staff looking after us were very friendly and attentive with their job. We felt very welcomed and belonged.
Place is really nice actually. Bungalows are very chill and view is nice. Also I liked the hammock very much. Staff was friendly and open for us, when they accidentally overbooked us.
Close to the pier. Perfect location for exploring the island. Host is very accommodating and will help you with anything you need. Wonderful accommodations. We will be back !
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The bungalows were clean and dark! The Beach next to the bungalows was for us the most beautiful on Ko Phayam.
